Now I know we all live in different parts of the world.... My car is considered high mileage here....

The car is about one year and three months old, it's at 30,000 km. I drive it everyday of the week.

No major problems other than the door thing. Replaced oil every 5000 km at dealer recommendation, because we are in traffic a lot.

How's everyone else doing?

Two years, 26 000 km, first service with oil change at 25 000 km. No issues.

Due to having been used for track driving, the front brake pads were finished at 20 000 km. Replaced them myself. After resetting the service counter for these brake pads, the car thinks I can drive 110 000 km on the next set. Yeah, right!

Just reached 90000kms in 22 months, no major issues.

10k to 12k miles a year is considered average in the UK, my car is 21 months old with 12k miles on 3k being my mileage for the last 10 months.

34k miles after 2 years. One oil change after 15k, new tyres after 33k miles. Had some initial problems with leafs getting in the blower, but BMW fixed the manufacturing fault, and retrofitted the fix onto my car.

Only other issues are dash / door / rear view mirror rattles... fishy smell from the engine every now and then.... thats it!

It's an observation, that the computer recommended maintenance period is almost entirely ignored in Asia. I replaced my oil 5000 km ago, and the computer says I still have 11000 km left. That is going to be ignored tomorrow as I will replace my oil again. I am wondering if this is how everyone else does it.

My transmission fluid doesn't seem to need replacement until like 50000 km. Can I get your opinion on that? I rather follow factory recommendation unless others see fit. I have never put the car on track (always ended up go karting ha ha) Thanks.

Some people cannot accept oil intervals are now further apart. I just accept what BMW says is correct as they test the car and if they thought it will cost BMW a lot of money to fix engines they would reduce the milage between oil changes. BMW has increased their warranty to 5 years so BMW are happy.

I am also wondering if there is an expiration date on our car.... I was hoping that the car lasts forever because manual will not be available for our area anymore. So I am somewhat concerned, is there lifetime designed into our car? My father's E30 325i still runs well with solid chassis, but then again "they don't make cars like that anymore."

Our next purchase after the F20 1er will be something like the I3 or Toyota Prius, so I am hoping the car lasts a very long time

I live in pretty little Belgium and I have had my car for exactly 2 years 4,5 months (got it on 02/01/2012) and *drumrolls* currently I have

142740 KM on my F20

Almost end of lease (160K KM)

I do need to say, I had a new clutch installed recently... I'm driving pretty "sporty" according to my service lane responsible and that could explain the fact that it needed to be replaced, I can't disagree... A lot of traffic jams (look it up, Belgium with Brussels and Antwerp is the most traffic jammed city in Europe I think)

In all those kilometres I had I think 3 or 4 times replaced brake pads and the brake disk, and around 6 or 7 maintenance days (oil, filter, fluid check and so on)

Your driving style must be really tough considering that 3-4 times replaced pads during 160tkm My original brake pads still has 8 mm (75%) @ 90tkm.

My front pads were finished after 20 000 km.
This is actually a new record for me. No brake pads have ever lasted that long before.

Considering that I'm driving quite a lot highway: yes. Since i don't need to pay for fuel as a company car driver I'm not really an 'economic' driver. First thing I do? Hammer the Sport button. The worn down clutch however really surprised me...

I am at 32000 km and still not needing new pads.

It means I am not using the car "properly"
