BMW Customers Now Get One-Year Subscription to SiriusXM’s All Access Package with New Vehicle Purchase

Customers receive premium programming via satellite, plus SiriusXM Internet Radio when buying a new BMW or MINI vehicle, or BMW Motorcycle

Great news, but does this allow you to listen all XM and Sirius stations? I know there are two separate packages the limit what you can listen to.

This wasn't free already? I bought my F30 last year and got one year free. My girlfriends 2012 X3 also came with one year free.

My premium package comes with a year of SiriusXM on my 328xi included. I thought all Sat packages for 2013 included a year of SiriusXM?

This is great for BMW giving customers more.........But

A. Mamma said "nothing is free" someone got to pay for it.
B. Has BMW installed a worthy amplified antenna, that will bring
all these stations in to the car with clarity???

This includes internet access (computer and app) that would normally cost a few extra bucks every month.

Sirius sounds absolutely horrendous. It totally defeats the purpose of having the premium audio package. I didn't continue the service this time. HD radio is better and I still have my MOG and Pandora. MOG quality>pandora.

Just like maintenance. It is not free. BMW has a great way of marketing their "free stuff." Its either already included in the package/equipment required for Satellite radio and pricing could be adjusted accordingly.

If price is not adjusted, BMW could easily take away a perk they would normally have offered to adjust for this. Or move a perk to another "package."

We bought a '13 in '12 and got a free year. Had to talk to a supervisor, but it wasn't a problem. YMMV

How is it costing anyone ? The free radio waves are bouncing around regardless of how many people are listening - in fact I would argue that sirrus/XM can charge their advertisers more for air-time as their subscriber base grows.

Nothing new here. They've been giving 1yr subscriptions for as long as sat radio has been an option.

Can you still get the 1-yr free if you don't have the Premium Pkg? I'm in the midst of finalizing my ED and I didn't select the Premium Package. Complete waste of money IMO.

This exactly. Sirius sound quality sucks. Free is great though I'm sure we all pay somehow, but I'm not bothering to renew.

Agree completely. I only use satellite radio for NPR and the radio equivalents of the major TV news channels. That way, if I'm in my car when O'Reilly or Chris Matthews comes on, I can listen to the program and then don't have to watch the PVR'd video later. Works for me.

The talk stuff sounds OK since it's less frequency response to produce, not my thing though but I can understand people who like XM for the news and talk.

Even thought 1st year is free they still ask for a credit card and make it EXTREMELY difficult to cancel the service.. I was a former Sirius customer and I can't stand this practice.. so much so that I didn't bother to activate my "free" service this time around

You're under no obligation to provide a credit card. Tell them you are a cash only kinda guy! As a matter of fact, the worst move possible with these guys is to fall into their "automatic renewal" trap. They'll give you a teaser on the way in then sock it to you on the renewal, and you've already pre-approved the reaming. Better to have no CC on file, let the sub lapse, then call them and tell them what they MUST do to earn your business for the next one, two or three years. If the deal makes sense, lock it in since you can always transfer it to another vehicle at no charge. Whatever you do, refuse to pay any penalty or reconnection fees and NEVER give them a credit card number. Be an animal, they certainly are.

It's not FREE!

You have to have sat equipped ( Prem Package ) which your already getting a year with anyway. This program is All Access which is better than previous but that's about it.

Having Sat pre wired doesn't mean you get the free activation. Smart wording by BMW in this PR.

To take BMW up on this offer you need to buy the code ( $375 ) and pay for a BMW tech to do the coding ( $470 was my quote )

$845 for a lousy year of "FREE" Sirius service?
