Spent $1000s at fcp last couple yrs. Bought i-12 v.2 injectors for cheap ..relative to bmw. Lifetime warranty... I'd predict I'll be making use of that boy multi times for these injectors 🙄😁

Me: Hi I need an RMA for a warranty return on 8 quarts of oil and an oil filter.

FCP: What is the nature of the warranty claim?

Me: Both the oil and filter got dirty and now it needs to be replaced.
Are you kidding me? A warranty is in place for a defective part. There are scum suckers out there filing warranty claims for normal worn parts? What is wrong with people?

FCP isn’t dumb. In fact it’s brilliant marketing. We probably wouldn’t be talking about them if they didn’t offer this warranty. FCP knows only a certain % of guys will actually take them up on the warranty and price their new parts accordingly. BMW parts are so overpriced it still leaves them room to make a profit.

If we subscribe to your theory... Then someone like me who would never submit a frivolous warranty claim; is actually subsidizing the actions of these low lives through artificially higher prices.

FCP may just have lost me as a customer.

Also... What kind of horrible PoS returns something like used oil, wipers, brakes, etc., asking it to be covered under warranty? They should be ashamed.

FCP has videos showing how to repack the oil and send it to them. It's almost synonymous with their brand now.

Rest assured that many people do not take advantage of this due to the process involved with some orders. And a lot of parts don't need to be reordered by the same owner.

You wouldn't be subsidizing anything if you have them price match a part.

Ha! It doesn't feel that way when I walk through returns processing in our distribution center.

Are you a certified mechanic? They changed the policy, didn't they?

Policy is still the same. Use it, then return it for a full refund. Just recently dropped off my used oil kit for full refund. Love these guys.

I've had hit and miss results with them. First couple of orders went fine. Then I ordered 6 quarts of oil from them and they sent me 6 Volvo oil filters. Called customer support after my email went unanswered and they said they'd send the correct oil asap. It never arrived, called again and they stated there was a mixup and they'd get it right out to me. Never arrived. Moved on to try another company...

So let me get this straight. If I buy for example their BMW 10-Piece Control Arm Kit (E90). And this gets worn and needs to be changed in say 2 years time. I can send them back and they will refund me? I can opt to used said money and purchase another set?
That would mean lifetime front end changes for almost free?

Can't be. How would they be making a profit? There must be a catch if its like that

I'm guessing repeat customer base. Most people don't keep their cars for more than a few years. So if you were to buy said parts, you won't have to replace said parts if the car is no longer in possession?

The problem I see with sending used oil back is that the shipping costs of sending the oil back would make it a wash. I used to buy parts for my 1998 V70R from them but never got around to ever using the warranty. I have also purchased parts for my F10 from them but it will be a while before I will wear them out. Good warranty but I am afraid most people are not keeping their cars long enough to ever having the need to use the warranty.

Almost correct. You would have to purchase the new set then return the old set for a refund. They won't refund you unless you purchase the new parts first.

I buy all my parts from them and just recently heard about the oil change kits and how you can return used oil and filters. I didn't think that you could ship used oil via UPS so never thought of it but now that I know I'll only be paying the $25 for shipping the old oil back from here on out.
