Hello, everybody.
I'd like to share with you my longread story about an amusing trip which we went last autumn.

First of all, let me introduce myself. Some of you can still remember Russian gang which was visiting the BMW meet - "UNITED 5.0" in Munich in 2014.

Here some photos from the meet

Here is story about our trip

But this time I'd like to tell you the new story, which has more high level emotions. Let's start.

Me and my wife have similar passion - BMW. That is why when we came from the German trip in 2014 we decided to visit Munich in 2016, because we knew that BMW Group will celebrate 100 years. Whole 2015 we collect some information about enthusiast meet or official celebration in 2016. And in february of 2016 we learned that in september will be the biggest BMW Festival. Also we send to application forms about us and our cars (E82 and E86) with the purpose to take a part in the festival.

As time went and we was going to visit Munich like guests. We again collected cool international gang from Russia and Belarus. But before one week to start my wife took the e-mail, where was the invitation to take a part in BMW Festival "The Next 100 Years" like a participant on the square in front of BMW Museum.

I prepare our E86 Z4 coupe 3.0si

We meet our friends from Moscow in Grodno (city on the west boarder of Belarus/Poland), and we start our trip.

Our way was trough cities like Warsaw, Wroclaw, Dresden till first night stop in Allersberg.

Really cool roads after our. No speed limit. We had fun and joy enough on German autobahn.

In Munich we meet other part of our group, some of then came by plane, some are living in Munich, some guys came later from the Belarus too.

Anyway everybody came to see the grand festival "The Next 100 Years".

The day of festival has come. I washed our car early in the morning and we drove to the BMW Museum's square to get not bad place. How we were surprised when man which was showing where we can park showed us one of the best place on the "face" parking.

We've been only one car from Belarus and Russia on this square.
Almost all cars here was from Europe, except us and E31 from Turkey.

People met us very warmy. There was a lot of interest by Bavarian people for our number plate with BY. Most of all joked that it is new exclusive Bayern number plate.

We meet a lot of cool people. We were invited on the next day meet the classic cars.

Also we meet a man - his name is Knur, and he works for BMW and he tell us interesting story how he took a part in creation of E85 and especially E86. We have to thank him for the shape of roof in E86, because there is some problem for people taller than 180cm to get inside. A lot of people who design cars wanted to make roof more higher and he changed the roof line. We have Herr Knur to thank for the shape of the roof on the Z4.

After meeting near the BMW Museum, we walked over to the Welt. The Welt is an Amazing place, which was filled special atmosphere inside in this day. And special cars on display.

The best exposition/display in the Welt - in my opinion...

Also Vision Concept

Of course we went inside the BMW Museum...

But on this day, the real museum was outside on the parking lot(!) of Olympia Stadium. The main area of the BMW Festival...

It's a very special feeling, that you can speak with anyone there about BMW's. Because everybody has their own story about BMW's. For some people, these cars were a dream, for others is a car of a younger time. For me it was a special day to meet these people. Me and my wife looked too young for participant on festival like this. That is why we had so much attention everywhere when we drive our E86.

We found only two E86 on the festival except our.
Both of them were ///M

More photo from all areas of the festival you can find in Dackel's photo thread

Afterwards, we used shuttle to the new BMW Group Classic Center

More photo you can find in David's tread

After that, is was the Festival Night, but we meet all together for the last time, because some of guys stayed longer, some of them came back home earlier, but we and our friends, who came by plane, had the great adventure planned.

On the next day when guys took them rent Skoda me and my wife decided to visit classic car meet. Very interesting story. I want to tell you but my English is not good enough to describe all situations. Anyway, this is the 10th meet like this. And participants are very special. For us it was amazing meet - we never had seen a lot of rare cars (not only BMW's) in one place! And we never took a part in meet like this before. Again we were at least twice as young as the others, that is why we had a lot of attention. Again were very easy to speak with - we enjoyed talking to everyone there. Because we are all car enthusiasts and we have the same passion - to drive our cars on beautiful roads and in new countries.

Like in this film

This meet was in front of Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum which we also visited.

We met our friends and drove out of Munich to the Austrian Alps.
Today we planned to drive the Grossglockner Pass. But we didn't take into account some circumstances: traffic, weather and hour of last opened road(closing at sunset).

We asked the man at the toll plaza, to let us to drive trough the pass. The main reason was to get to our booked and payed hotel after Grossglockner Pass. He advised us to drive around the main pass.

Not a big deal, except night time, forest, Alps, zig-zags and slippery tarmac. Anyway we had a lot of fun driving around. It was a bit dangerous, but a lot of fun, especially when we were near the finish. The road up to the top was like the "cherry on the cake".

Uuups...

Nothing special, we just get lost at night and could not find our hotel in the village. Police stopped us to check our documents and helped us to find our guesthouse. Respect.

But if they stopped us one mile before I guess we had to pay some big fee for our entertainment.

Morning view in Alps is the best for me. Especially time when fog is coming out and sun is going up.

This morning we woke up early and came back to drive through the Grossglockner Pass.

Very easy to find new friends, when you have the same model of BMW, even if you are 2000kms far from your house.

Very strong place. Interesting road. A lot of emotion. New landscape behind new corners. Late braking, apex, gentle full throttle again and again...amazing feelings.

We wanted spend 2-3 hours and drive to the seaside. But we spent almost whole day and it wasn't enough for us.

Road to the Italy we also found very interesting but short.

Last point of our trip was seaside and Venice.

Road to home was short and boring.

For whole trip we drive 3800 km (Belarus, Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Czech)

And for us it was a short trip, but very rich in impressions and memories.
We hope to make it a longer tour next time.

Awesome, thanks for sharing!
But why do these trips always take place without me? Maybe I can start a trip from Switzerland to Italy (Dolomites), France, Spain,...
