$5,000,000 Piston

Wow, for an asking price of $5,000,000 USD, you'd think the seller would pay for shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/James-Hunt-E...#ht_1065wt_959

Can you just get a used GT2 racecar for 5million.

Or heck maybe even a used F1 racecar. Not sure.

I wonder how you'd get this authenticated? Ron Dennis didn't come into Mclaren until 1980. I mean, for 5 million I'd need some indisputable proof that piston is what it is claimed to be.

Seems legit to me.

I was going to bid based on the thread title, but he's actually asking $5,000,001.00..... That $1 puts it just out of my budget.

I won the auction -.-

Edit: by placing a bid and not paying, this guy would hang me by the sack for sure, due to the ridiculous asking price for a piston haha.

LOL, for me, paying for the shipping is a deal breaker.

He probably tried to go with a real legit auction house like a Christie's, and got outright rejected because of the ridiculous starting price. Now he's trying the "take a shot in the dark" Ebay method.

If noone else is going to jump on this, I am about to. Deal of the century.

Can someone confirm this will fit in my N52? Also, how many HP's can I expect to gain?

Just hard to believe he expects to retire on a piston. BTW, bid ends tomorrow. Group buy?!?!

The funny thing is, he's asking for more money than what James Hunt was offered by Brabham to race for the entire 1982 season.

Actually he says he will hand deliver the piston to you at no charge. So are you in now?

Okay has been a while since I sold on Ebay but isn't their listing fees which are a % of the starting amount, So putting it at $5M cost some bucks.

I suspect he did this to attract attention to his other collectible auctions he has going
