Is it to do with the delay valve in the clutch? I remember back in the E46 days we were all removing it for smoother clutch engagement but I can see it causing turbo lag issue in the modern cars.

No, not really. And the clutch delay valve is not nearly as annoying in the F20 as it was in the E46. Seems like BMW has tuned it to be quicker again.

The M235 is a coupe, the M135 is a hatch. Different cars, different chassis, different suspension layout and setup. Stiffer suspension on the 235?? Does the M235 weigh more?
Just googled and yes it does by almost 100kg |

Chassis and suspension layout is the same. Almost all the parts have the same part numbers.

According to BMW Australia website, the M235i is 20kg heavier. But for all intent and purposes the two cars are identical underneath. A bit like M3 and M4.
