Wavetrac vs Quaife vs BMW LSD
Hi guys
I have been playing on parking lots quite a bit and is getting annoyed with the E-diff. Especially if the grip conditions are changing (patches with sand/water) the E-diff just isn't fast/smooth enough and upset the balance of the car. I have a clutch based diff on my AE86 which is a totally different experience and a peach to throw around cones compared to the M135i (also 500kg lighter but...). I guess the clutch based BMW LSD is what you want for drifting but the drift sessions are, after all, occasional. Is there a better all-round choice? - Niels

My experience is that clutch pack differentials (like the stock M235i diff) are the most predictable and responsive for drifting and sliding around. TorSen-diffentials like Quaife are however better at getting the power down without sliding.

So...the crown wheel is apparently welded on the M135i. Sending my diff across the world (to USA) is not really an option - Wavetrac is out of the equation.
