It will use the drivetrain from the BMW Concept Active 5 until the original concept drivetrain is mastered for production.

It will use the same shape and still be a four seater.
There is no plans for an "M" as yet.

Okay so what we are talking about - in initial form - is essentially a would-be "6 Series ActiveHybrid" but with different styling, plus some other tricks and tech that fall under the "Efficient Dynamics" umbrella.

It'll be a cool car, but I think the hype around this car is already getting out of hand, and it seems to me there will be some inevitable "WTF?" when details are released. I am sure BMW can find customers for this. However, I just don't get the feeling it is a game changer like the Megacity is shaping up to be. But, I am going to hold off passing too much judgment until more information trickles out in the coming years.

OK, awesome, but instead of a pointless, expensive, and complicated hybrid system (when BMW can't even line up a high pressure fuel pump that won't break), make it a high pressure N55 with a 6MT option. This hybrid crap is just squandering otherwise promising ideas.. see the CR-Z.

That depends what it weighs. If it's a real 4-seater under or around 3,000 pounds with a 300hp drivetrain it's going to define its own segment, because there's nothing else out there like that. I get the feeling that this one isn't going to be another F01 platform engineering exercise like half the BMW lineup has become lately.
