Read it weighs around 4450 lbs and a "source" talked to Edmunds and said Dodge is going to make 1200 units. But the CEO of Dodge says they haven't confirmed how many they are going to make.

I just want to experience the muscle car like it was back in the 70s. If this gets close that'd be amazing.

I see it did the Motor Trend Figure 8 in 24.7 seconds. Same as the Alfa 4C.

Ehh. Still looks like you need a CDL to drive one.

The car doesn't seem too impressive in real life. I'm hoping this guy is the worst driver in the world..

Well it's already confirmed faster in a drag race than the car that guy just lost to, so I'd guess the driver got a poor launch.

That indeed, but that's a crazy low trap speed for having 707 horsepower the poor launch usually would equal to a slower ET and a higher trap speed. (Due to wheel spin)

I like the power and i like the sound. i don't like the interior and hate the touch screen nav system that the americans are going to.

on to the performance, i like my cars to be very powerful but also balanced. Thats why i feel the C7 z06 is much better suited for big power.

I like the looks, but after getting into german styling. i simply prefer it over these muscle cars (with the C7 being excluded).

overall i think its a cool car, but i really don't have that much love for it.

easy, get any new 'pony' car, let the air out of the tires, cut the brake lines, disconnect the steering box, and drain the fluid out of the trans

Looked like an 1/8th drag, so 89mph isn't THAT terrible.

I feel it is. I ran my 335i before I got my M3 there (the very same track) and it only Dyno'd 430 horsepower and trapped 93 mph while getting off the gas completely twice during the run and hit an 8.3. with 707 horsepower I feel that's extremely weak. I can't wait to see the actual wheel number when a owner dyno's it. I have a feeling it's over rated.

It's an eighth mile run... throwing more horsepower at a car that already has issues applying torque from a dig isn't going to make a big difference. The Hellcat won't have enough time to stretch its legs and actually use its power to any useful effect.

Using that as some kind of means to evaluate engine output is ridiculous. The thing is a porker and under-rubbered. Its mediocre launching numbers are not a sign of overrated power specs.

Your best luck is finding some kind of kit car. This thing is closer to a Crown Vic on steroids.

I think it's intentionally unbalanced. The goal isn't to create some kind of accomplished GT but to really make a modern day muscle car. It's perfect for that agenda; shove a ludicrous engine into a plus-sized coupe while making it loud and ostentatious. It's probably great at burnouts, gratuitous slides, and crazy rolling acceleration. It will shine on a highway, not a back road, relatively speaking.

I find it hard to believe they would put 275s out the back, I would have thought they would have put at least 305s out the back.....but whatever.

I heard GM isn't upping the power on the ZL1 and next years GT500 is going to have over 700 HP. So it seems its going to be a power war between Ford and Dodge (for the 2 door, seater) while Chevy lets them battle it out and keep their ZOMG ZL1 right where its at.
