We don't have it bad at all in South Africa...

My 118i's 52l tank costs about R620 to fill up if it's bare-bones empty, that's about 60 Euros, or 49 Pounds.

1 litre of Unleaded 95 is about €1.18.

Yowzers, that's almost 75% more than in SA!

Then again, the average South Africa earns 10% what the average person in Europe and the Nordic countries does...

Anything around cars is highly taxed in this country. Annoying if you are a car enthusiast like me, but in the end it's the difference between what you pay in taxes and what you get back from society that counts. Sort of fair deal

Before I thought gas in HK is expensive when compare to US or Canada. Now from this post I know in many places in Europe, gas is also expensive.
Thanks for sharing.

China
full tank 52L F20 petrol 118i
52 euros
oil quality in china is poor. especially when you drive imported luxury cars or performance cars, you will see the difference. some areas in china use poor ethanol petrol which often damage good engines, like porsche, ferrari, maserati series.

Here

95 cost 1,6 euros per litre
98 cost 1,65 euros per litre
diesel cost 1,5 euros per litre
E85 ethanol 1 euro per litre

So, i hope that BMW start flexifuel production as soon as possible.

well i ordered the 125i rather than the 125d simply because I only do ~8,000 miles a year. the fact that the diesel engine and fuel are both more expensive means that the break-even for me is ~6 years.
