So much for uniqueness. I'm glad I changed my order to AW.

However, the 1M will always have that sweet wide body kit and awesome interior.

I would be really pi$$ed if I have a VO 1M. There goes the uniqueness as far as the color is concerned.

I wonder what will happen when BMW decides to offer that "sweet wide body kit " on the 1 hatch..... hummm.....
It will be called the M2 and will be the successor to the 1M, the wide body is not only cosmetic as it's actual purpose is to accommodate the wider track of the transplanted M3 suspension.

I don't know what this company is doing anymore, and neither do they.

I would rather they get back to their roots and start making cars that attracted us to the brand in the first place.

I really don't care if VO is no longer exclusive to the 1M, but then they should have offered real M colors for it. Not offering a blue or silver/gray is and will always be a mistake.

As for the F20, how many people are actually going to order VO when you have decent alternatives other than black and white?

Polished Turd Metallic would be a more fitting color for the F20 anyway.

They will not care if the ride is getting softer, they will not care if it doesn't have rear independent suspension, they are willing to buy it regardless of the design.

Most of us can boycott, it will still sell in hugh volume at the end of the day.

If BMW has to go down this route, I will rather them be profitable, stay in the business & make some awesome machine every now & then.
What you describe there is a Buick, and they're buying them by the boatload as well. So I guess you're correct. Welcome to your future BMW, it's a Buick Lucerne. My M3 on order will be my last BMW. Sad.

I held my tongue on the VO thing and it seems many are echoing my thoughts - it is piss poor for BMW to tout this as an exclusive launch color for the 1M then through it on the bottom of the line non-M hatchback.

Makes me wonder if they will allow 1Ms with builds after Nov 2011 to have the added colors.
