The Current 1ers look so hot in comparison..although Im really impressed with the interior mods. Finally BMW decided to add a bit of youth to the dash, trim, switches, buttons and keys.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

The car is just shockingly ugly. I don't know if to laugh, cry or throw up.

Thumbs down

BMW has lost a potential buyer. Or maybe I will buy the last 1-er coupe before they run out of them.

I like the "this will grow on you" . Strange as some cars looks great the very 1st time we see them. Have you heard about love @ 1st sight ? E.g. Scirocco (well I might ended up buying one as well !), or A5 coupe...

If any BMW design moron reads this thread by now (hi there !), he must be sure we have all been hired by some other brands to bash this design like this ! He must fear other brands want him to revisit his winning design ! But this moron will not revisit his drawings, as he's completely certain that he's right and that they will sell. Well, some layoffs are to come @ BMW design office. Mr BMW designer, you are a prick. Adrian van Hooydonk : you are a useless prick !

F.A.I.L. ! And all BMW lovers are severely disappointed ! Former 1-ers were best sellers, this will be a not-seller. I 'm already hearing my salesman, "you will see, you'll get used to these headlight design, they're ahead of time...". Hello VW group.

Terrible! After some beautiful releases like the new 7, 6, 5 & Z4, they bring out the black sheep bastard child of the family. Way to go BMW! And to think I was actually looking forward to this car... just sad!

Teetering at 80% disapproval... only 1 out of 5 people in this thread like the new look (not including all the facepalms and ridicules in the official pics thread). And we are BMW enthusiasts.

Does not bode well, IMHO. Marketing will have to do a heck of a job to sell this

Don't worry, this car will do well.
Remember, this is a car primarily aimed at the european market. And bimmers are way more expensive in Europe than in the States, so the 1-series entry level bimmer will remain a favourite among young professionals who get to choose their first company car.
Competion for the 1? A3 for sure, Golf, maybe Mini but that's about it.

And OT:
She certainly is no beauty. But with the m-pack and some nice rims (18") I'm sure it will look awesome.
Same as with the e82, most run of the mill (fleet) 1-series on 16" ugly wheels look very dull. But the (rare) m-pack e82's look fantastic.
