Do you think the sport seats are comfortable??

Hi guys,
I have had my F21 for almost 3 moths now and am loving it every day! At the time I was about to order it, I was doubting to get the sport package(which includes the sport seats) OR leather interiour on the standard seats. Since I had decided to stick to a certain budget I could't really get both.
In the end I got the leather on standard seats and I'm very happy with it, the quality and luxury it adds to the interiour is really nice. Also, I think the standard seats are very comfy!
Last week I went to the car show in Brussels where BMW had an M135i on show, so I tried the sport seats in that and to be honest, I really think they are crap
The bigget side parts which give sideways support in sporty driving, where really bothering me and I dont think I could stand them on every day driving. I found that they where to close to each other and it puts to much preassure on the sides of my back.
What do you guys think? Especially people who have sport seats and drive in them daily?

The supports on the upper back can be adjusted, there's an electric switch hidden down the side of the seat that brings these further together or apart; it's nice to be able to adjust this I've found; as u say, in some cars it's in some default setting which isn't to everyone liking. I have a standard spec msport so it comes as standard on these!! Personally I love the sports seats, especially the hexagon cloth alcantara; I can't comment on the standard seats tho as I've never tried them!! I'm possibly biased tho, as every car I've owned has had some sort of sports seat in them what are everyone else's thoughts on the seats?

Also loving the sports seats. But they can be a pain, literally (for me at least) I find it very easy to slightly adjust my driving position and in doing so induce back pain within 20 minutes of getting behind the wheel.

EXACTLY the same here!! Have not found yet a driving position that is both comofortable and provide me with the view I want. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I struggle to find a position that does not cause pain either to my back or my legs!!

Any comments or tips are welcome!

The sports seats are the best choice. Nothing gets any worse than the stock seats.
So it's just positive. But that doesn't mean that everyone finds them comfortable.

The F20 sport seats are among the best seats I have ever tried in any car. They fit me perfectly. The driving position is also very nice. I have 100 percent view of the instruments in a comfortable position that allows me full motion range on the steering wheel and pedal. They only thing that bothers me is the arm rests. They are in the way of my elbows.

Here is how I (189 cm, 79 kg) have adjusted everything:
Seat tilted all the way down in the rear end. Front of seat lifted all the way up. Seat adjusted forward on the rails until the right knee is close to the center console, but not hitting it. Seat back quite far up. Steering wheel pulled back and lifted until the view is right.

I have also found it hard finding a comfortable position.

Now that I've found a decent position... The problem is I can't see out my bloody window! The B pillar is basically right next to my face - forcing me to have to shift forward out of position to check for traffic etc.

Annoying, but I can live with it. Would rather the low extended seating position in this car over my previous R56 Cooper S!

I find them comfortable, but there are so many different adjustments that I think if you played long enough you could find your perfect set up.

The annoying part for me is that I find a good set up then the other half steals the car and changed the bloody things and it takes me a few days to get it back right again!

I'm going to give this a go, all 186 cm and 69 kg of me. Although every time I try lifting the front of the seat all the way up I end up with back pain

No problems with ours but we did have the optional £200 electric lumber adjustment.

On RHD manual cars the pedals are very offset too which could effect some people. We went with an auto.

Cheers

I also find the sport seats very good, and even better with the electric lumber adjustment.
No problem with the view of the instruments.

Got them with electric lumber support as well...
They are perfect for me. I drive 500km every week-end and no problem. For long trip I put a bit of lumber support and widen the lateral support. During long driving it is important not to block the lower back and allow some movement for some stretching from time to time to avoid pain. For sporty drive I remove lumber support and adjust the lateral support tighter.
I have driven many cars and that sport seats are the best I have ever experienced.

I didn't liked the standard seat in the loaner I got (116i, f20). No support at all. I do like the sport seats in our X1, it's the same as in the 1M coupe.

We are all different sizes, so the seat may not fit everyone perfectly.
As the others have said, the seat are multi adjustable, so it may take some time to find the right position for you.

This may sound silly, but it could be the seat you were last sitting in at home or the office that is the real problem.
Your back gets a memory effect from that seat, then you sit in the car's seat which supports you differently.
This can put pressure on a different part of your back.

If you are getting lower back pain, try doing a few simple lower back stretch before you drive.
