Does these wheels fit
Hi,
It is quite hard to find nice 19" wheels that will fit without making any changes to cars body. So could you please let me know if some or all of these are ok or not. Car is F21 125D m sport (just factory m sport chassis so not too low) 4 Options: 1. BBS 19" / 8,5" ET 32 (nice wheels and good price, but worried about both wheels. They say that those will fit but I not so sure) http://www.ebay.de/itm/8-5x19-Zoll-E...item2c8bc102cf 2. Breyton Spirit R 19" / 8,5" ET 42 (worried about the front wheels) http://www.ebay.de/itm/4-STUCK-BREYT...item418e6da7a2 3. 19" / 8,5" ET 40 (worried about front wheels) http://www.ebay.de/itm/19-Zoll-AV1-0...item27f006147f 4. I guess these would fit perfectly BBS CH-R // 19 inch DESCRIPTION▶ Size: 19×8.0 ET40 PCD5x120 – Front 19×9.0 ET44 PCD5x120 – Rear Thanks for help! |

1. Too wide and offset too aggressive so will have rims sticking out beyond the bodywork. I'm running 8" wide at ET34mm all round and wheel faces are near flush with the bodywork.
2, 3 and 4 all ok |

What he said.
Front: 8.5" you need ET40-45 8" you need ET35-40 My most extreme setup was the following, and had a very slight roll of the front fenders: 19x8.5ET40 225/40-19 Falken FK453 19x10 ET50 255/35-19 Falken FK453 |

Thanks for answers. Is it really so, that if you had to roll the front fender with 19x8,5 ET 40, the situation is different with ET 42? Difference seems so small, that it is hard to believe that ET42 is ok, but with ET40 you need to roll?

The wheels are not rubbing, but the tyres can. There is quite a lot of difference between different tyre models in the same size, so one can fit, and another one not. One 235-tyre can fit, while another 225-tyre is rubbing.

I just bought Rays / Volks racing ZE40 size:
8.5 x 18 ET 30 Front with Pirelli P zero 235/40/18 9.5 x 18 ET 40 Rear with Pirelli P zero 265/35/18 Will this fit M135i? What is the range of offset for 8.5 front and 9.5 rear that will not rub the fender outside and rub the shock inside? Thanks! |

Don't forget the tyres. They usually rub before the wheels do. And two tyres with the same dimension printed on the sidewall can vary a lot in actual size.

ovekam is giving some really good info - different model tyres make a massive difference in terms of sidewall profile - they may read the same size, but sometimes one will fit where the other wont...

Just to clarify. Those must be strictly the times you experiment trying to fit tyres enormous for the car. (I would suggest they never fit properly in fact.) Manufacturer-approved sizes must fit every time (on correct rims). Therefore "massive difference" correctly approached is negligible.

Can I cut 12mm from the my wheel:
8.5 x 18 ET 30 Front 9.5 x 18 ET 40 Rear so it will become: 8.5 x 18 ET 42 Front 9.5 x 18 ET 52 Rear Or the metal where bolt is tightened is not strong anymore due to less metal in that area? Thanks! |

You should have bought the correct sizes to start with. Honestly, I would try and find a solution with your dealer to take back the wheels you bought and get the correct size. |

Hope that rear 255 will fit on 48 ET. Wheels are Breyton gts-r. Some say that Breytons need spacers due to brake calibers? Last edited by 3vo; 04-16-2015 at 02:06 PM.. |
