Has anyone heard the M Performance exhaust for M135i
This is my first post on the forum, so hey everyone!
I'm due to order my M135i either at the end of this month or in early March time. I've been weighing up a few of the extra's from the M Performance brochure to have fitted to my car shortly after I pick her up. One extra that really caught my eye was the M Performance exhaust, which includes the chrome M branded pipes. I've searched high and low on youtube and google for footage (ideally) of someone who has the M Performance exhaust fitted so I can see whether it's really worth the £600+ premium. Anyone who could help, it would be much appreciated |

Hi and welcome to the Forum!!
I know its a 125i and not a 135i, but i saw this video some time back when i was researching the performance exhaust, i think its a roof cam, so you get to actually hear what its like outside the vehicle! I can only imagine the 135i will sound much nicer, personally - going off this i would definitely add this to my car if it were a petrol |

Thanks man! It's actually going to be my first BMW. At the moment I drive a 56 TDI Golf.
I think with the 135i exhaust only having been available since the back end of last month it may be a while before we see anything on the net. Going off the video you found though it sounds like it would be a worthy investment. It completely transforms the 125 imo. I found a similar vid for the E90 328i and 335i, I have to say the M Performance exhausts really do seem to be the business |

Your in for a real treat then if your coming from a TDI Golf
Similarly to yourself, i went from a 2.0 TDI 140 Golf MK6 to the 120d M Sport, uncomparable IMO, even the TDI 170 Golf/A3 engine which *should* be similar was a million miles apart. Being my first BMW also, i wouldnt go back to a FWD car now, even on snow in winter the RWD performs exceptionally well with the right tyres. If you get the performance exhaust fitted, be sure to put some videos up; i would be really interested to hear the difference before and after (outside if possible, as the cabin's piped with sound i believe!). Have always fitted performance exhausts to my petrols, despite them being small engines it always made them sound and perform better, haha |

Yeah I bet. BMW's run through the family at present, everything from 1 series coupe's to 5's. So I thought I'd make the switch while my money situations doing ok. I've had a few goes in my mam's 123d which I think is a very good engine tbh and your right about FW and RWD thing, the drive is just so much more engaging in a RWD car.
I always was put off in the past by the winter months when it came to driving a BMW. But a few of my friends in the last few years have purchased winter tyres for their cars after making the switch and they say it's a completely worthwhile purchase. I still think to myself would the 125 M Sport be enough, being just 24 years old. But then when you've read just about every article on the M135i out there and I weigh up things like my commute to work being just 10 minutes from home, and living not to far from some of the best driving roads in this part of the country it was a bit of a no brainer.... If I opt for the M Performance exhaust I'll definitely get some videos on YouTube and on here as soon as I have one, I'll try my hand at a proper comparison between the stock and the m performance in one video |

This is the only F20 M Performance exhaust video I could find, only 20 seconds long and states its on a 118i not a 125i. Can't say I've heard the stock 118i, the only F20's I've seen in my area are diesels. So I don't know how much of an improvement it actually is

I've been looking for a while for a video as I'm interested in fitting this to my 125i, no luck what so ever. Might have a Youtube hit on my hands if I post a video once fitted!

Just saw this video on another forum. Anyone considering this? Sounds pretty good. Having said that I would like to hear back to back sounds to hear the difference.

Sounds pretty good to me, although I'm sure a few manufacturers will start releasing theirs in the coming months, and probably for a fraction of the cost that BMW Australia will charge.

You are right Cozza, but for me the advantage of M Performance exhaust is going to be less likely to drone. I've had after market stuff and even the best like Akra still drones. I don't think something that is produced from BMW would.
