actually this series 1 looks better in real, however, you must pickup the good combo for that - white or black and red paint - and avoid these fake trendy urban upelstory.
bmw has done a good job for this car as for handling, precise steering, agile, feels stable, very comfy and silent (diesel without vibrating), and smooth / plenty of torque diesel engines. Must say still a pleasant car to corner and ride although perhaps less sporty than the previous one, but you gain so much in comfort. the auto box is just perfect. Car seems larger yes, but boot marginally bigger, and rear seats still cramped. this is still not a family car even according to EU standards. No doubt that the car is more upscale with better plastics but some bits here and there still feel very cheap, and overall you still do get this premium feeling. So does the sport line leather, not very refined in its aspect. What is mostly disappointed is the interior style, very massive dashboard, lack of creativity and style. this could be a vw badge. harman kardon is also a big disappointment, not much power, little surround, not crystal clear. The radio pro screen is a must have, cheap for what your get, plenty of useful and useless information, nice graphics and iPhone integration. Some drawbacks, but if you opt for the good combo (means forget urban) it is really a nice car. |

It couldn't been uglier if they tried.
I really hoped they'd fix E82 bug eye look in new model. E82 LCI was an improvement with the white eyelid insert, that made the headlight look somewhat smaller. But somehow the message for a better looking '1 got lost in F20, it looks like the car has a down syndrome, and no amount of bumper work will fix that. Art |
