I find it amusing that you NEVER hear a European complain about being required to display a front plate.

funny you mention this ! years ago I was driving from CA to MI and Nebraska state trooper pulled me over on the highway for not having a front license plate on a CA registered car. I was like are you fookin serious? you trying to enforce laws of another state? he gave me a fix it ticket.... Like I am gonna fix it and drive back to nebraska to show it was fixed. GTFO

I run the US Millworks, with the quick release; very solid. The QR feature lets you swap it in/out without any tools. So to be perfectly accurate, I constantly 'forget to put it back on' and keep it in the trunk, so if I were to ever get stopped, or need to use meters, I could put it on in under 5 minutes. Never gotten stopped, and only put it on a few times for trips downstate to the hoity regions where meters are everywhere. FWIW, the wife inherited my first 2'er and keeps her Milworks on 24/7; they hold up excellent, never shifted or got loose (2+years now).

Not fond of the wrap, maybe if the area where the plate was flat and no curves unlike the photo where the plate wraps up over a body curve. More of a fan of the bracket that fits into the tow hook.
Ohio just removed the front license plate requirement, so just had the front bumper cover repaired and repainted since the car had the front license mount attached to the front bumper. Still trying to get used to seeing the front end without the plate.

"California spent over seven years testing the front plate wrap concept starting with highway patrol cars."
This makes sense. I mean, you want to make sure you've got it right before rolling it out. I now live in a state that hands over two plates, but the front isn't required to be displayed. Being obsessed with front aero as I am, my car rolls without the front plate. Yeah, I struggled with that, too. It took me about 14 minutes to get used to not having this weird attachment on the front end of the car.

No front plate would get you pulled over a decent amount 15 years ago. However, it's pretty fucking pathetic if a cop pulls you over for it in today's world….they should be out doing way more important stuff and just about every community nowadays has more important stuff going on. Hence, I can't remember the last time I've been pulled over for it (I haven't had front plates in 20 years or so). That being said, they will use no front plate as a reason to pull you over in a minute if they suspect you might have more interesting stuff going on (meaning driving drunk, carrying drugs or weapons, etc.).
