Questions about the Convertible 135i and the Couple M1
Hello,
I'm thinking on buying a 1 series, I want the cabrio but looking at videos/links, etc some people said that "the cabrio isn't as good as the coupe" so my question is in which way the cabrio isn't as good as the couple? I mean the regular 135i coupe, I know that the M version includes the sport package that have a lot of new features, but speaking about the cabrio and the convertible, what are the advantages/disadvantages? I'm new at the BMW world so would like to do a good decision based on needs. I'll not drive more than 100km/h in highways, neither will use this to race streets so based on that do you have any recommendations? Thank you! Rafael |

If you take the roof off a car, the structure gets significantly weaker. To compensate for this, BMW reinforces the floor. The car ends up being heavier and weaker than a coupe. The safety is also not so good if you get into a rollover, the car is more likely to develop leakages, and it is more noisy.

I have had both and while the convertible is noisier than the coupe, it is always going to be, it is still quite refined at cruising speeds. As has been said the coupe will always drive that little bit better as is is much stiffer and lighter than the convertible.
The one big plus the cabrio has is access to unlimited headroom...
