405M alloys / standard suspension
Just bought my first BMW! Very excited to get the keys next week.
It is a mineral grey 116i sport line and pretty standard compared to the beasts on this forum. Planning to do some mods though, and the first one will be a new set of alloys! I'm really interested in the 405M alloys after seeing a couple of pics on this forum. Not sure though whether it looks good with the standard suspension. Therefore, I was wondering if any of you own these wheels in combination with the standard suspension. If so, could you post pics of your F20? Thanks! |

Congratulations
I want to do the same and get the 405M alloys for my F21 116D M-Sport. It just happens that before buying my car I test drove a F20 118D M-Sport with the M-Performance parts on... including 405M alloys so here are some pictures I took at the time... |

Thanks for the pictures mate. Just couldn't find them. Love those 405M alloys! Looks good but I think it looks great with lowered Eibach suspension, don't you think (especially on the last picture)?

I agree, yes it would look great. Personally I'm not sure it bothers me that much. When I am able to get these alloys for myself then maybe I'll change my mind

That car looks great - just perfect really! I'm thinking of changing the Z4 we have, and the M135i is definitely on the list. If I got one it would definitely have to have these wheels and the bodykit!

Perfectly fine perhaps a little firmer than the 18" wheels I have on my M Sport (386M) but in 'eco pro' and 'comfort' you might not notice and in 'Sport' I guess it offers that little bit extra feedback. Put the money in my hand and I'd buy a set tomorrow.

I went for 18" wheels after all and bought the 386M! Here is the result (apologies for the crappy iPhone pics):
Tires are Michelin pilot super sport. Loads of grip! Ride is still comfortable (almost no difference with my 16" snow tires). Doubting about eibach springs now... Also installed black line tail lights btw. Will make some nicer pics after I washed the car. |
