No its just as easy to read the screen on the I drive, and to be honest most of my calls are simple last number redial (her who must be obeyéd), maybe if I was doing more complex calls Voice control would have been worth it...

I find the Voice Control very comfy when in urban traffic. Don't need to focus on a screen menu, just one or two short vocal commands to the lady who is hiding inside the dash

Besides, she delivers a lot of other services than just manage my phone. She plays my tunes, switches on my favorite radio channel, changes the vehicle set up etc.
Only when I have passengers I use the iDrive, since it's a bit embarrassing takling to the car

I do admit it is strange to have a lady in the car that does what she's told. Maybe I am just not used to that and should practice more...Just to get my moneys worth...

Make sure you get a proper BMW one- as they put a chip in the connector which means some cheap after market cables don't work very well. In wondering if this is causing most peoples problems.

I'm trying to get it as a gift from my stealer prior to car delivery in about 3 weeks...
It's nothing compared to the 12k€ I've spent on extras!!!
I hope he gives in...

What I really miss:

Enhanced Bluetooth
Extended storage (ridiculous that this is not standard!)
Automatic Gearbox
Fineline Stream interior trim

If I had more budget I would have ordered:

Windshield with grey shade band
Automatic airconditioning
HK Speakers
Extended Interior Light package
17" Styling 381 or 382
Foldable mirrors
Professional Navigation
Rain sensor
Shadowline

My perfect 1 series would be a fully loaded 135i 3-door in Midnight Blue with Oyster plus chromeline. This car does not exist as the 135i only comes with M-sport package. I do not like the M-sport looks on the 3-door.
But a fully loaded 125d or 135i M-Sport 5-door in Valencia Orange with Red leather would also be very nice .

Would have solved your poor FM reception wouldn't it.....
On monday I am taking the car for a 200km drive from Oslo and southwards. I'll listen to FM instead of DAB, to test how the reception is in my car. So far I have no complants in and around Oslo. (I'll also see how economically I can drive. This will be the first, the last and the only test of that. Hope I don't fall asleep).
