What performance car would you buy for 40-60k?

What would be your first or second choice with a 40-60k budget? Main goal in mind is performance.

Could be used or new. Thoughts?

That is a very tough budget... bcuz you are in either a heap of economy there or almost touching the good cars...

A 1 year old M3 would do the trick for me... or a GT350 Stang... or a C51 stingray perhaps...M5, E63, GTR?

but to be honest... if ur trying to really up the ante on your old RB335i... then the only legitimate choice may be the GTR, which is simple to mod and will always impress.

Wait a couple years for the new Supra. Probably. Maybe. If they ever make it.

They're saying it should start around 50k, so maybe 60k? Or wait a couple more years and pick up one that's just been returned from a lease.

Since you said "budget"? Then the 16 Mazda Mx-5 (yes it's a performance car) with a few mods and put the rest in the bank.

That's exactly what I had in mind, but i'd like to see what others would prefer in the same price range. C6 Z06, C7 Z51, M3/M5, C63, Hellcat, etc

Wonder if you can get a stripped-down Corvette for 60 K. That's what I get. What about a Mustang GT 350?

Used cars, Ford GT, that's an amazing car.

I'm on a similar hunt and have convinced myself a lightly used 997.2 911 is the way to go for our needs. I think I can get one for under $60k, probably a nice one for high $50s out the door.

A brand new M2 comes in a close second.

M2 or Camaro SS. Depends on what you are looking for in terms of performance and other than performance.

Used newer Vette, Stang 350, Used GTR

Or build one of those Factory Five GTMs that are based off the vette. Should be able to get in done in that budget if you do most the work.

Ive always wanted a Porsche... The M2 would be a fun car but i couldn't justify the price.
