EVO pits the BMW M135i vs the Honda Civic Type R in a drag race. Both super hatches have over 300bhp, but one is front-wheel drive and the other rear-wheel drive. Which will go fastest?

The civic Type R will have a lot of fans because of the way it drives but it is Butt ugly. Everything about the looks screams rice rocket.

And if you are a tuner the BMWs platform is better with RWD

Interesting to see both get off the line about the same. Only until the underrated N55 picked up steam did the BMW start to pull away.

I'm never going back to wrong wheel drive unless it's my daily Prius.

No surprise that they mention the better manual gearbox in the Honda. I'll choose a manual over auto or DCT every time, but still BMW manual gearboxes are just ok. Long throws, feather light clutch, not notchy enough for my taste. Honda knows how to make a good MT. Sad thing is, even M4 has only an "average" MT. fix that in the BMWs and that would drastically improve the driving experience.

Is it me but was traction control on for the Civic? The slow motion photography of the front wheels show that the tire stutters.

True that! (Yeah that's an old ass term). S2K is no joke, I think the Cayman S is just as good.

Ediff works like LSD in a straight line.

Regardless, RWD is where it's at.

Pretty close but in terms of look the be is worlds in front. The civic makes you look like a nerd who chose a little too rice-racy a car compared to the BMW (maybe another colour)

Even if it would've lost, I would've still chosen the BMW since RWD is so much more fun in the corners and a 3.0 L |6 sound way better.

I dont care about numbers......I would kill to have that 135i hatch here in the USA. Its an ultimate DD driver and hauling to HomeDepot/Supermarket..etc.

I refuse/over my dead body to buy a VW/GTi.
