Rattle in the boot/backseats

Ive noticed a small rattle come from the boot or the backseats and can't seem to find out what it could be! Ive folded the seats down and checked all round there and I've looked in the first aid cubby (in the boot) to see if the first aid kit was moving around but that doesn't seem to be it either. Any idea as to what it could be?

Had it in a previous car, tracked down to the rear seat buckles being in contact with the seat frame. Worth checking.

I don't have it myself, but I know BMW had an issue with rattling from the rear axle area. Said to be solved from March production, but I don't know!

Just in case any of you understand German, here is the link from a German F20 forum:

It appears that BMW is still investigating the case. So far it looks like they made a modification of shock absorbers.

My car also had this rear rattle. I brought it to my dealer 3 weeks ago and they fixed it: new shock absorders. The rattle has disappeared!

boot rattle

I have been searching for some time to locate this rattle in the boot of a 2011 BMW1 . Finally found that its the plastic lining on the inside of the boot door that is rattling. Book in for warranty repair. Will post how it goes later.

Have my car a month now. Starting to notice a jiggly sounding rattle coming from the back when riding bumps. I'm wondering if I'm being fussy or if I should say to dealer about it (which I'm not keen on because I know they will say they cannot find anything wrong, it's normal, it's the tyres etc etc)

It wasn't like this new

What do you guys think?
Thanks

The rattling from the back is deffo getting worse. Gonna bring it with dealer in the new year.

I know bmw sorted out shocks for fixed suspension but I wonder if the updated the adaptive suspension too?

Anyways, will get at dealer, see what happens...

I had this! Drove me mad until I found out what it was - the parcel shelf wasn't properly seated on the left hand side hinge. clicked it back in and it's back to silence.

I will check that.
It sounds more like suspension. If I had to describe it I'd say it sounds like rubber mounts with something not secured 'getting air' and resting on the mounts again. Prob only a few mill gap but enough to cause the jiggling sound.

Starting to annoy!

I've got this rattle too, I thought it was just me. Really annoying when I've not got the Sound system up!

No solution, roads are good round dealers, poor at home so was hard to replicate the problem to technician.

Unsolved mysteries of the F21...

Have a look at the inside plastic trim covering the rear window. I've found that it doesn't fit perfectly flushly, and even though the parcel shelf rubbers usually squash it tight, there is sometimes enough play for rattles to creep in.
