I agree and I bet most of them do not even own a VO 1M.

Who cares. I will still smile when I walk up to my car. We don't own that color. I'd rather not have it so limited if I ever need body work. It doesn't make my car ansy less neat because you have that color.

We both will have neat cars in neat colors.

Very well stated and a Owner of a VO 1M. I would love one, but needed 4 doors.

They will not care if the ride is getting softer, they will not care if it doesn't have rear independent suspension, they are willing to buy it regardless of the design.

Most of us can boycott, it will still sell in hugh volume at the end of the day.

If BMW has to go down this route, I will rather them be profitable, stay in the business & make some awesome machine every now & then.
lol and you really think the majority of BMW buyers in North America are any different. I think you fail to understand that the enthusiasts on this board represent only a fraction of BMW buyers in North America/the rest of the world. There is likely an equally large percentage of BMW buyers in North America that are only buying for the badge/prestige.

I suspect the great majority of actual owners feel the same way.
I didn't buy it to think it could conceivably be worth a couple of more dollars if I ever want to let it go.

It's almost perverse to imagine buying this kind of car so an owner's fragile ego can be temporarily massaged by feeling superior because of ... a limited number? ... a color? You think people in Germany have spent decades of work for that?

It drives wonderfully. Near perfectly in most areas. Other people and I get to take advantage of that. End of story.

Truly poor form offering the VO for the line's cheapest models.
Why not just slap on some ///M badges for free?

You're missing the point. Certainly, any 1M owner paid a premium for performance. But Valencia Orange was billed as this limited edition's "signature color" along with only two other color options (b/w).

The color is not relevant to the car's performance, but is/was relevant to the uniqueness of the car AS PROMOTED BY BMW.

BMW is building an unfortunate reputation of switching gears on it's most discerning customers on a regular basis. THAT is significant.

Maybe BMW has a lot of VO left over because no one is ordering that color on their 1M. The 1M VO test cars they sent out to the performance centers outnumber the other to colors. Just a thought.

Personally I would order the 1M in white. Black is too hard to keep clean and VO is a cop magnet.

As for the F20, who cares, you can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig.

As of a few weeks ago, the U.S. order take rate between the 3 colors were just about equal.

Who cares? I don't here anyone whinging that you can option alcantara interior accessories through BMW Performance on cars that are not a 1M. No other current M car has alcantara as standard.
Nor do I hear M3 owners complaining that their whole suspension system, wheels etc, were pinched for this car.
You should be venting anger to the people who slap the actual M badge on their 318is. Besides, an orange BMW? No thanks.

That Sucks that BMW is considering using VO on the F20 1er. But then again it shouldn't surprised me after looking at the new design of the F20. That car is just BUT UGLY!!!!

Thank God I got a 1M!!
