Worst Engine I\'ve ever experienced.
We had a courtesy 116i whilst our 330d was being mended and I was shocked how crap the engine was!! It was gutless and lazy. No power low down as you would expect so it needed revs. It was so reluctant to rev anywhere beyond 2k Rpm I was left with my jaw on the floor. It felt so pathetic, lazy, useless and got poor MPG! This is BMW and they allow that dreadful engine to be sold?! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?!
Never been so happy to get our 330d back! Shortly after that, the 'd had to go back in again as the problem had not been fully fixed and we got a 118d Convertible. My god so much better than the 116i!! The 18d was a proper engine! So, in summary - always get the Diesel equivilant!!

I agree, my other car is a 2008 116iA. Ok to drive before you need to enter the highway.. you really need to hit the throttle with kick down through the floor.. And still after that just about nothing happens Having used to the torguwe of your 330d I can understand the difference lol..
Really looking forward the turbo engine of the F20 |
