Replacement bulbs for standard Daytime running lights (non Xenon)

Has anyone found any good replacement bulbs for the standard daylight running lights.

They are much too yellow in colour. Ideally some LED bulbs would be good, but I suppose they would interfere with the bulb out diagnostic.

Does anyone know of any LED bulbs with built in resistance to overcome this problem. I have had a search on Google, but can't find any

Thanks

Neil

I've ordered some from Ebay (China or Korea, can't remember). They are supposedly Canbus compliant, so won't give a bulb out warning.

I'll let you all know once they arrive.

You can also buy 'blue' halogen lamps for them that are the same wattage. They give a white light and are compatible with the original lamps. They are available though most Auto parts shops or Auto electrical outlets

I have these.......

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MTEC-380W-...ht_2369wt_1271

Can't find the original thread now but someone did put photo's up, they give a pure white light, not blue at all.

Cheers

Just saw this thread and had to post my contribution. I would avoid the usual "blue-tinged" bulbs as they look horrible in daylight when off as they illuminate the entire light housing and give off the blue colour!

After much deliberation, I settled on these:

http://www.phoenixautobulbs.co.uk/pr...balt-blue-499/

Much better than stock BMW Longlife H7's and also look improved visibility. Better than the Philips Blue Vision as well IMO.

No pictures unfortunately, but they're cheap and I would buy again without hesitation. Autoexpress seem to agree as well

I would add, that although they look blue-coloured, the effect is hardly noticeable when off and additionally, the use of Xenon gas makes the biggest difference to their colour and effectiveness. Road-Legal as well.

You can see pics in my olders posts in this thread.

This is my update:

Main / High Beams works perfect (not so white, but they are better than yellow ones

Sidelights works great and excellent white

Daytime lights doesn't work at all. Today I received these http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/product...product_id=204
And "daytime lights fault" message appears. Don't buy it!

Let's see if somebody got any daytime leds working without errors.

I think the drl's are going to be more difficult to find a replacement as they are a bigger bulb. Hids direct say thay have resistors too add on but i dont want to go down that route. I just drive with my sidelights on during the day anyway. The drls are never on but it would be nice to have led too match the rest of the car
