No IAS.... Should I cancel my order?

Hey folks,

Thoughts needed. I was just told that BMW removed the Integral Active Steering from my x7 order, due to supply chain issues. I do feel IAS would make a lot of difference given this is a big car.

Should I cancel the order or not?? Thoughts please!

How do you feel about the option, does it really make a difference in terms of driving experience?

Thanks!

I have it on m y M760, which is a long & big car. It makes it park and maneuver like a much smaller car. I also like it in highway lane merges and high speed sweeping corners, keeps the car pointed straight. I've never driven a vehicle this large with this feature before, I'd never give it up now that I've gotten used to it.

Honestly though, If you've never had it you may not notice it's not there.

What's the sense of urgency to get this specific vehicle?

My neighbor just cancelled the order for the same reason (different manufacturer) because in his view the vehicle must be delivered as ordered - 100%.

So he assumed a lease and decided to wait until a better time to place the order.

Everyone will have a different perspective and an equally different willingness to compromise.

For me it was a must-have option. So much so that prior to this LCI, I actually considered upgrading to the m50i simply for the option of dynamic handling package (which includes IAS). I was thrilled to see BMW offering it on the 40i for the LCI models, so I jumped and was lucky enough to get my X7 40i produced with DHP.

Sad to see they had to remove it due to supply issues. If money isn't an issue, you could always upgrade to the m60i which has it standard. Otherwise I personally would hold off until they bring it back. It's a huge car and DHP makes it feel significantly smaller. Even my wife notices a difference, as our X5 didn't have it. The X7 with DHP actually feels smaller and nimbler than our X5 did.
