From 118i to M135i

Yesterday I pickup my car...

Had a 118iA F20 for more than over a year. Great car but power was ok.
Before that I had a 120i and the horsepower was the same. Different car especially the change frome manual to automatic gearbox was a change.

But the automatic is perfect (also for my girlfriend).

So the big diference between the 118i and the M135i is the power an responsive of the motor and that sound. I already love that sound and still had only low rev (max 3500).

Will take it easy for the first 2000 km. Next week I'll go to Swiss for winterholidays.

Hopefully will be able shoot better pictures!

Looks great. Try to run it in as much as possible before leaving for Switzerland, long distances on the highway aren't healthy for a new car.

from what I've read, during the engine run in (break in), the engine needs to vary its revs. Constant speeds at constant engine rev is bad. The internet is full of opinions on how to run in a car, often contradicting each other, but the one thing they all have in common is not to take long highway trips during running in.

@OP: did you get black mirror caps?

Yes got black mirrorcaps... Didn't like the carbon ones.

Dealer said that a long trip isn't a problem As long As you variate your speed.

Will do that anyway.

Just went for a drive and the sound is just addictive. It's so much better live then on video's.

Great upgrade!
Did you change the wheels before picking the car?

Because of the M Brakes the 118i wheels didn'tfit

But maybe i'm ordering the same for summer with 245 rear.

I'am interested to read your story about driving the M135i versus the 118i.

Is this a world of difference? Also when you commute or go shopping or bring the kids to school or only when you floor it on a free stretch upfront? Was the extra cost worth the superior owner experience? What about the appetite for fuel, how much more?

Tx and have fun (won't be too difficult with this beast)!

Congrats! Wish the M135 wasn't so expensive compared to 116 and 118 models here up north... That beast seems like SO much fun!

Nice car and good colour choice. Very interested to see it on those alloys - first time I've seen them on an M135i and particularly on a black 5dr (which I have). I have to say I hesitated over whether to get that design of winter alloys or the other 18" design (silver, resemble the ones fitted to MSports) and in the end went for the silver ones which were also a useful bit cheaper. Glad I did because I have to say that I'm not sure I like those multi-spokers now that I've seen them "in situ" - a bit too fussy. Definitely prefer the standard grey alloys, all things considered.

run in a car by driving how you drive it normally.

normally people don't rag the shit out of their cars day to day, so as far as i'm concerned so long as you don't try to drag race the car, just drive it normally

The power of the 135 compared to the 118 is just amazing.
Drove 2k in a week and still in ZUrich now. Going in the autobahn was really nice but the mountains were totally cool.
In all gears there is enough power to go up and used the steershifting to break on the motor.

Tuesday we'll drive another 1k to Holland and Will make more pictures.

And Will use full throttle then...

Just came back from Swiss... drove almost 2800km in ten days.
Went with friends who drive a E55. I was still running it in so couldn't keep up with him.

It really got dirty with all the salt and oil on the road.

Just went to the car wash and it's all shiny again.

The trip with the car was really great. The power is really nice and what you notice is on the autobahn that if you give good throttle the car behind you disapears quite quick..

The car looks great, and the more I see the wheels, the more I like em. They look horrible to clean though
