Did not yet install this one. I received a quote from BMW Belgium for the LSD:€2.750 excl tax and excl installation. They told me it takes 1 week lead time for the order and 2h for installing.

you might consider sending an email to Leebmann24.de, pretty sure they can offer the M Performance diff for less than the official catalog price.

listed in the Norwegian official BMW website as well. But it doesn't say exclusively for M135i anywhere! Only F20/21, on both pages. Does this mean it can be fitted to everything from 114 to M135?

Don't have time to search now, but I recall somewhere reading BMW were to charge around $6-7K for this fitted.

Drexler will do it locally for around $5,500.

I've emailed a BMW dealer to ask if there's an official price yet. I've also heard $7k, but recently read in the $5K range so would be good to get an official figure. Although whatever it is, it will prob be more than what I would be prepared to pay for it

Hi guys, I don't know about Australia, but in South Africa for my M135i, i got a quote of;
R65,000 = $6*097,733
That's excluding installation and a 14% Tax - I know it varies around the world
:O!!

I also had southern BM install my Quaife LSD but was more like $4k I reckon. I'd Had a Quaife LSD in another car previously, great improvement in performance. Not sure what BMW LSD will be like but can't see why you'd spend $1 more than the Quaife option. It makes a massive difference to drive ability and predictability of handling. #1 mod IMHO

I got quoted $4200 for the Quaife installed, so I guess I can see both sides of the coin. Spending $1k for something that will do the same job does seem like a lot, but I guess the piece of mind that comes with the warranty is worth something.

I've followed up my original enquiry to ask whether this is an exchange unit or if BMW give us the standard diff to keep. They weren't sure so they're finding out and will get back to me. If able to keep the original unit, it would be even more enticing as you could either sell that or sell on the M Performance LSD at a later date

I guess the $1k difference is the price one pays for BMW warranty

In general, a TorSen diff like the Quaife and a clutch pack diffferential like the BMW one will behave slightly different. The clutch type is somewhat more suited for drifting and sideways control, while the Quaife is slightly better suited for getting the power down and do good laptimes.

If I didn't just trade my car in I would have done this. Well worth the money as the M135i just lack that extra bit for fun driving. Do it guys!
