Is service pack worth the money

Hi

Been lurking for a while, but looking at getting my first Beemer hopefully. (118 Sport 3Dr standard)

Few questions, what are the prices for a service and would you recommend getting the service pack, the deal is £299 with £0 deposit so was thinking if I can get 1 item chucked into the deal the most beneficial would be a service pack?

My other question is when will the 118 get the 1.5T from the mini/2 series?

Also the 1 series in the UK doesn't get sat nav as standard untill September builds so would wait to take advantage of that, also would that mean that they drop the price of the Professional Media pack?

Thanks

Chris

If you order a 118i now, it will have 3 cylinders.

Are you thinking 118d or 118i?

I am just awaiting delivery of my new 118d! I managed to get them to throw in the service pack for half price, 5 years will cover a few services including (I believe) a running in service and an inspection 2? I may be wrong but its always worth a try.

Regarding the Nav I would imagine it wont affect the price of the professional pack. I have the Pro Pack on mine and from what i have read it is well worth having.

My dad ordered a 118i 5-door a couple of weeks ago, just as the ordering system went from the 4 cylinder to the 3 cylinder engine. The change caught the dealer out who was unaware the change was due despite it being in the motoring press.

The emissions do drop, so that the first year VED in the UK is £0 and after that it's about £30 per year. Delivery is currently slated for the end of September and the business sat-nav was included automatically in his order.

Unfortunately the BMW UK website has only had the old engine removed, it's still awaiting the new engine to be added to the configurator.

I'd say the servicing pack is worth the money as it's a five year scheme and servicing on equivalent cars tends to average £200 to £250 a time.
