I don't know about that...

I agree. It should be mandatory on an M135i. Maybe even the 125i.
I did consider it for the 116, but I think the fake differential works rather well with my limited power.

This is just my experience from driving with older BMWs. The Quaife is also making slightly more strange noises, but I don't think you will hear them in a modern car with full interior.

A BMW dealer in Aus got back to me to say that it is not an exchange unit and they the original diff can be kept. Makes it a little more interesting as I imagine there would be a market to sell the LSD separately if not selling on with the car

Got one lined up from the dealer to be installed when it goes into its first service. Will provide feedback when it all happens.

How do you accept your traffic fines as they are 3 times the cost than us Kiwi's have to pay.

Got it installed at Hills Autohaus for $450, had to buy diff oil and 2 sets of rings from BMW for aroununder $50 so install/parts $500.

The cheapest I got quoted form other workshops was around $650 and BMW wanted $850 for install.

The cheapest I found the diff locally from BMW was $4400 inclusive of GST but I was lucky to find one on Ebay for cheaper (guy bought one and sold his car, so never fitted it)

there is this place below which is the cheapest I could find, from the US
