buying a 530D Help please
Can anyone give me their opinion please.
im about to buy a 2005 530D SE with sport kit and 19" Spider alloys. i was originally looking at a msport but this se has come along and it just looks amazing! Whats the difference between Msport and SE? this one also doesnt have satnav. is that quite easily installed? thanx Last edited by beemer_flex; 01-09-2011 at 05:12 PM.. |

Ive had several of both in my time so here goes.
SE gets 'normal' seats and Sport gets sport seats although some SE's have comfort seats or sport seats added afterwards. SE has softer suspension. Sport gets lowered stiffer suspension. SE's have smaller diameter wheels. Sports have 18's as std with 19's a popular option. Sports had some extra colour choices but not many i.e Imola red Bumpers front and back are different plus Sport has a small lip spoiler on the b ootlid itself. Sports also tended to have the aluminium trim strips inside whereas some SE's have wood trim. Sat nav cant really be retro fitted. Easy to go from older small screen to wide screen but not to retro fit but Im sure someone somewhere will have managed it. Its fairly pants though - a £200 Tom Tom whips it so not worth bothering IMO. Phew - think thats about it. You got any pics of the car??

i took some when i went to see it actually. il add some in a few mins when i figure out how to lol
im new to this thanx for your help. because of how the car has been done it may have had the seats and suspension done... |

Ah. I should have read your original post and realised its a 2005 E60 and not a 2003 E39 which is what I thought it said.
Will edit my first post on spec differences. Looks great on those wheels.
