40th anniversary edition Golf GTI - would you?
The VW Golf GTI Clubsport, due out next year, is as fast around a track as the Golf R, according to AutoExpress - http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/volkswa...ubsport-review.
Once spec’d up, however, it will be north of £30k – in which case, I would far rather have an M135i, with its superior engine, transmission, handling and exhaust note. No contest. Any views?

I cannot comment on their track times due to lack of my experience on tracks. However, by means of driving pleasure and drivetrain it is impossible for me to switch from a RWD/XDRIVE to FWD/4Motion (which is a front biased awd)
in addition, I find VW Golf a little boring in interior |

It's a simple choice: FWD vs RWD. Both have merits. I prefer RWD.

I love this new Golf, but it isn't a hard core FWD machine the way a RS275 Trophy R is. But if it comes to Australia I would consider trading my Renault for one.

I love the GTI, I have owned 9 in total since the high school days but I don't think I can go back to one after driving the F20. My BMP MK5 GTI

BMW has no love for 125i, the rival of basic GTI.
They offer in the FWD 2 series van the updated engine, but in 125i LCI it is offered the old engine. No differential available also. In some countries the taxes for engines with a cc higher than 2l are too high so these limitations are really annoying! |
