It is rubbish. If you're looking for an old post of yours I find the best way is to go into your profile page (click your user name top right) and click on statistics. Lets you see all of your posts and threads you've started. That might help a bit.

I agree, It’s bloody useless. I have done searches and having found f-all so I’ve asked questions only to get replies “use the search, it’s your best friend”
Thankfully, not many of those and thank you to all you peeps on here who do give an answer and sometimes a link, both of which is most appreciated

Agree, unless you know the complete thread title that you are looking for, it`s useless. You might as well goggle what you are looking for.

Use Google search with “site:” syntax. For example, if you’re looking for an office chair, type in

office chair site:bimmerpost.com

I don’t know if there is a way to limit this search to a specific forum or sub forum.

^^^^^^^^This

You type in a word and get 80,000 threads back - none of which contains your word.

Try the app and see if the results are better there. We’ve put a lot of work into the search in the app which should be showing different results

It must work - the spammers have it down to a science. It boggles my brain how they can dig up a thread that matches their topic from 10 years ago and I can't find anything!

Happy Monday.

A sticky about how to use the search function would be very worthwhile.

The only thing worse than Bimmerpost's search disfunction is getting a response from that member who thinks it's his/her responsibility to respond to your question with a snarky comment suggesting that you should try the search function before posting a question.
