F21 Halogen Bulb Upgrade Help

Hello,

I'm new to the BMW world, and this forum.

I have a 2014 1 Series with Halogen headlights / bulbs and I'm wanting up upgrade the bulbs with either Xenon bulbs or a HID Kit.

I have upgraded the Daytime running light (1) with the following:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3815880623...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Doing so gave me the following difference:

Although after doing so I am slightly worried about the wattage of the bulbs, in the handbook it states the bulbs have the following watts:

Daytime Running Lights: 21 Watt Bulb, W21W
Side Lights: 6 Watt Bulb, H6W
Low-Beam Headlights: H7 Bulb, 55 Watt
High-Beam Headlights: H7 Bulb, 55 Watt
Front Fog Lights: H8 Bulb, 35 Watts

My first question is would the bulb having a lower wattage matter, as the ones I purchased are 5 Watts whereas BMW states it needs to be a 21 Watt bulb?

I was planning on getting just the Xenon gas bulbs for the DRL, Sidelights, Fog Lights and getting a HID Kit for the H7 55W headlights? Doing this what bulb should I get to match the colour for the Main-Beam?

And what Xenon Gas Bulbs do you recommend for the above? 5000k

As you can tell I have little knowledge on this so all your advise is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Isnt having xenon light bulbs on a halogen headlight rude and a safety hazard also? Ive seen countless cars with xenons on halogen headlights and they dont do anything besides shoving lights in every direction possible

Good point, in most country's Xenons are allowed only in their own housing, which also includes height control etc.

the F30 forum has info on the thorough xenon headlight retrofit.

Not sure if you know but those xenons will blind any driver that travels in the other direction and in front of you. Some countries also do require headlight wash system to be present in the front bumper.

Enough for blinding other drivers. Pretty sick how respectess people act just for the looks.

The blinding lights are a fucking nightmare these days.

I drive with the antiglare rearview mirror allways on, and shift the head and eyes constantly to avoid being blinded by other drivers.
