Working on trading my F30 for an M135i

Trying to avoid a major hit as I've purchased my 328i Sportline two months go (only 2700KM).

What do you guys think of these specs?

2014 M135i...

M Sport Brakes
M sport suspension
M Leather Steering Wheel
M Aerodynamic Package
Variable Sports Steering (multifunction F steering wheel)
BMW LA wheels 436
Sport seats
Sport Automatic Transmission
Comfort Access
Camera
PDC
Xenon
Navigation system Professional / Connect Blue tooth

The only down side is the non hi-fi sound system, I believe this baby comes with the base system

What do you guys think?

There are many after market retrofits for the hi fi if you want it so it's not much of an issue really.

Specification

The spec looks fine...all the important goodies. And for around £1000 you can upgrade the sound system to a level that exceeds HK, so no real issue there.

I'm curious why you bought a 328i instead of buying the M135i in the first place. I often wondered where those super-low mileage cars come from. Now I know.

The F30 sounded like a good idea initially but after owning the car I realized that it's not as sporty as I thought it would be... And that partially my fault, I made a major assumption when I looked at the car's specs... I thought that the sport line would have the 704 (sport) suspension as standard (just like US models). I had just moved to Saudi Arabia and as it turns out, you get a standard suspension as standard on the sport-line here. I did get the sports the seats and transmission though.

I priced out the M performance suspension for the 328i including The front and back ARBs just incase the trade doesn't go through.

I had initially asked about the M135i before making my order for the 328 but the price was way too high, it is now discounted due to the 235i release.

Long story short, I should've paid more attention.

Indeed, I'm trying to play it cool at the dealership but it's really hard. I'm sure they noticed that I was drooling

The M135i is a massively capable car. For a genuine petrol head its an absolute treat. I've always dreamed about another M3 (I had an E30) and the new version ticks all the boxes the post E30 versions missed:
  • improved fuel consumption
  • lower CO2 emissions
  • light weight
  • low down torque
  • Comfort button for throttle response and suspension

However the M135i is so capable I'm having a hard time ordering an M3, although there's no doubt that with 110hp more, more torque, less weight and better brakes and chassis, the M3 is going to be absolute beauty.

Congrats on the M135i. You'll love it

I don't have the upgraded Hi-Fi and think it's OK personally... I listened to the HK and compared to std. at the dealer before I ordered and although it was a little better, not worth paying the extra when those funds can be spend on better things in my opinion...

If the Hi-Fi is important to you, I would get the spec you want as last thing you want is buyers remorse

Thank you, the M3 is a thing of beauty. Look at it this way, it's a good problem to have and a win win type situation

In my eyes the E30 M3 is one of the best looking cars EVER.

good point, I listened to the system via bluetooth stream today and it wasn't bad, as you said "its OK"... I was unable to custom order one due to the fact that this particular model was discoutned to make room for the new 2-series.

Small hatch backs aren't very popular in Saudi Arabia, they like their 7-series and SUVs far more.

I'm very excited about owing a car that I can't own back home (US).

Thinking of getting the m135 on the same deal in saudi

Thank you for the post i reserved a m135 yesterday and have 2 more days to think about it

i had a cayenne s but went in a crash, so i was looking for a nice sporty hatch that won't brake my wallet and found the deal on the 135i

is the car enjoyable to drive and relaxing especially here in saudi with all the bumps and pot holes.

I got the car two days ago and you have to be very careful, the car runs 35 series on the rear wheels and 40 series upfront so there inst' a lot of room for mistakes.. you have to watch-out for potholes at all times, I jacked up my seat a little bit for better visibility.

The car itself is amazing I'm having a very difficult time keeping it under 4000 RPM, the ride is a bit rough and slightly bouncy considering the roads in Saudi (I'm living in the eastern province).. your car will be spec-ed like mine so it won't have the adaptive M suspension (it will be standard M suspension). I drove it all day today and it didn't really punish me but it can be considered as "stiff" but not overly annoying, I noticed it the first day and then got used to it quickly.

you won't regret this purchase... enjoy

About the hi fi

There is an alpine option I found on the accessories section of the bmw website

It can fill the gap between the basic system and the HK with less cost

That's great, I will check it out. The rear speakers appear like an easy Job, the front and under the seats seems to be a hassle, i wonder if the seats have to be removed
