Unfortunately Not
The paddles have to be used with the Sport auto box and the car has to have the wiring harness from new for it to connect.

It can be done, there are people in China who did it. We are doing our R&D right now

I'd take 118i with MT
Only 125i or M135i deserve the sport auto with paddles due to higher power

I prefer MT as well, but for people that choose the automatic, the sport 2TB should be should be standard in my opinion. The regular 205 transmission has the exact same hardware as the 2TB, but is coded to be inferior. Which is just another way to milk the customers for their money...
Anyway, considering that there is no change of actual hardware on the gearbox involved, it is stupid that bmw doesn´t offer the 2TB as a retrofit.

i'm sure someone will do a hideously expensive retro-fit at some point, just like the people who have retro-fitted CIC nav into CCC nav cars... anything is possible with enough time and/or money

Garage List
It is doable, my friendly BMW specialized (non-authorized) workshop can do it (has done it for many BMW's). They main problem is programming the car, but with Autologic is done quite easily. However, they quoted me (for parts and labour) around € 1.000, which is a lot of money and not worth it IMHO. I had paddles in both the Z4 and the MCS, and I did not use them that often.

Yeah, I am looking into this also.
From realoem it seems that sport-auto is nothing but software actually.
So it's mainly two flaps, wiring and a reprogramming.
