Is there any chance you can upload a how-to pleeeeasee?
I'm dying to get the paddles retrofitted to my car as well!

Is it an official BMW retrofit (as far as I remember the paddles were not even optional equipment for 116/118)? Could we assign this kind of work to an authorized BMW dealer?

No its not an official retrofit. Very difficult for an authorized dealer, because they cannot programme modules independently....probably they can, but need to be really good with the BMW diagnostics. If you want in Greece, there is a BMW specialist who can do it.

No factory retrofit. at least not for my region. Yes you can re-code, but it's a DIY job. Dunno what it does to your warranty but definitely frowned upon by BMW (at least where I am)

Who is it Fanis? Could you send me a PM with more details (specialist contact details, cost etc.)?

In any case, it is ridiculous not to have such an option for 116/118. Even Toyota Aygo has it...

Here you go, I just made a tutorial - wiring for the paddle shift retrofit on F21 and the coding that it requires.

I have paddles on my 2015 220i 8 speed and only used them once they just a waste of time.

You have to drive these cars in sport all the time as they are so much fun. Gas is going to get a lot cheaper and may get down to $8 a barrel of oil. Just shows what profits they where gouging off us all.

Bring back V8's

In Norway, we export a lot of oil, and when the oil price goes down, our currency goes down with it. That means the fuel hasn't gotten cheaper for us. But even if it was really cheap, there are still reasons not to waste fossil fuels. Oil is a limited resource, and combustion causes pollution.

It's shown there is heaps of oil and it's about time we as users do not suffer the over priced oil we have had to buy. Don't believe what these so called experts say about how much oil is left. I'll enjoy my petrol engines for many years to come and may even buy a new V8 Mustang and have some fun as well.

We will not run out of oil in our lifetime, but maybe it is not a very good idea for our generation to waste a limited resource anyway. Eventually it will run out.
New technology is coming, and electric cars are fun too. There are electric family cars that will leave a V8 Mustang in the dust from a standing start.

In Norway, approximately 20 percent of new cars sold are fully electric. And around 15 percent hybrids.

I've had two: a Peugeot 206 WRC and a BMW M3 (coupe, in a track suit as well) - both were no fun, absolutely.

Battery cars go back to the first automobile ever produced but just try and make it sound like a V8. I can replace an engine cheaper than you will batteries and an engine has a longer life than batteries so we are going have more scrapped battery cars and how are batteries scrapped.

Batteries are effected by cold weather so you need to charge them more often in Norway.

You are never going to buy a battery car to save money it will cost more for the average owner to own a battery car long term.

I don't get hocked into all these so called experts who have been proven wrong on many fronts.

Put you BMW in sport and enjoy.
