SUV or small truck for a good price?

My moms truck will have to go back to the dealership next week, I have to start looking for a new car now obviously. Were returning an 09 Acura RDX. She needs something that size or smaller, nothing bigger. With a tighter budget would you suggest leasing the car or buying the car? Lease a new year model or buy an older model car. Looking for around 20k or cheaper. Any suggestions on any models or vehicles you drive?

I just bought a new 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and I absolutly love it! They have come a long way from the past, it's more luxurious than my X5/10' ML350/and 335i and was about half the price of the X5. I crossed shopped just about everything in this class (mid size SUV) and nothing came close to quality, price, and features.

Comes standard fully loaded, but the 5.7L Hemi, trail package, and tow package were optional.... has more tech gadgets and features than you would ever want. The heated/AC seats and heated steering wheel are money!

I bought it for $41,700 ($49,700 MSRP).

I know you are looking for $20K or cheaper, might want to check out a less opted GC, Larado, or maybe the new Commander. My friends own a Rogue and it's been wonderful to them. It's going to be hard to beat that RDX though, if it's a lease why not just buy it or lease another?
