125d tuning box

Anyone got any info/reviews on this for their 125d or what it actually does?

http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/...(2012-)_218-ps

(the dearer one of the 2)

Big discounts on at the moment, tempted.
Like the idea of removing easily prior to servicing.

Thoughts?

Andrew that runs the company used to be a member and give offers on e90post. The boxes got good reviews from those that got them.

Only report I've heard of one on an f20 was here http://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=44362

A member on babybmw fitted a bluespark box to his 125d recently. After an initial hiccup his findings have been very good. I've spoke with him about it quite a bit, he has provided me graphs of the torque curves from the maps and was even good enough to send a quick video showing the cars acceleration from 50-80 in 4th. From my timings the car was noticeably quicker. The member with this box has experienced no issues, no warning lights etc so far.

hi, Andrew was good enough to fit mine for me and go for a couple of test runs with me in the car. we've set the box to mode 2+1 at the minute.

The power increase is great, most noticeable on the low end torque however after having reset my trip and drove the last tank VERY careful I am down on mpg:-(

I need to have a play around with the different maps but I've discovered this particular map is far worse on fuel when the engine is cold and with it being more instantly responsive it obviously using more fuel in the low rev range also.

I wouldn't recommend this map to save fuel but power wise it'sfantastic!

Will change map for next tank of fuel. It's quite easy to do.
One thing I forgot to mention was how easy it is to fit/unfit the box. I recon 2 mins at the most :-)

My mate's got one of these on his 125d - Map 2 was nice low down but Map 4 does all that plus has a great mid and high end. I used my Dynolicious app on it and it gained 21bhp at the wheels over stock on Map 4 at zero.

Still waiting for BMW's official power kit for mine, but the DTUK does seem to be pretty good on his!

i've previously owned a chipped Ford Focus. Always been happy to have it chipped.
Just one question now :

what influence does the chipping/remapping have on the comfort/ecopro/sport/sport+ behavior?

does it change all those positions? or can you choose to only have it remapped on the sport/sport+ position?
