F20 car rentals in South Africa
Hi to all the South African F20 addicts
I will be in Johberg and Cape Town mid next month for work. Could someone there let me know if there are car rental company there that rent 116i or 118i F20's. I have hired VW polo & 320i there in the past, but would prefer to have a new 1er if possible AusF20 |

Hi...I've never come across a rental company in SA that has a 1er. Most, if not all, go for cheaper cars in the hatch segment, like the VW Polo. The only time i've seen a bimmer at rentals it was a 3er. You can check out the sites below to confirm. Maybe if you contact them they may organise for you.

Thanks guys, that is what I thought as well. Many thanks for the advice.
Looks like it will be the same as last time I was there. A small Polo diesel or a detuned 3er I can only hope they have a new 118i |

SA rental companies typically have Polo 1.6i, BMW 320i (E90, don't think they will have F30 yet), Merc C200K or Merc E200K. Don't think you will find a diesel hatch or sedan.
The luxury cars will be auto and are not worth the money. 320i I had in Cape Town last year is frustrating slow when you are used to entry level being a 328i. Go for a Polo.

I've never seen a 1er available for rental here... Very few F20s on the roads in Cape Town to start off with, I've seen less than 10 over the last 3 months or so. Go for a Polo, your best best. |
