Awesome car, definitely one of my favorite cars of all time. I saw this one on craigslist and was drooling over it! It looks prestine.

Some may say it is more raw and a blast to drive, that simply because most cars back in the day were build like that. Lighter, less sound deadening, etc. Even an old civic hatch is a blast to drive if you mod it right.
It's the driving experience with these cars. Just like why you'd pay for a Porsche over a GTR - slower, but there's something extra in the experience with a Porsche that just doesn't come out in the numbers. Same with the E30's.

Looks can be subjective. Same thing can be said about any other older car.

The no warranty, safety, power characteristics are what make the car so much fun. It's a true drivers car. It doesn't need a bunch of useless gadgets to make it enjoyable to drive.

But between e30 and e36, e30 hands down cause I think the e36 is the ugliest m.
The E46 really looks like an E36 IMO

It's about the driving experience. Power does not make a great drivign experience otherwise we'd all have Merc AMG's. They have power, but are disconnected from driving. The E30 M3 provides driver feedback you just don't get in a modern car. YOu don't get it as a collectible, you get it to drive it like you stole it. Our current points leader in autox is a E30 M3 with some suspension work. He's beating up on M Coupes (Z3 & Z4 based), E46 and E36 M3's. Now in a straight line, the E30 would get killed, but driving enjoyment isn't about the drag strip for most BMW nuts.

And anyone in a PY car calling another BMW ugly

You notice the little cones in the windshield of the Black M3? Those are her autox tech inspection stickers She races both ///Ms, and in her E36 M3, she is faster (on course) than I am in the M Coupe.

man that's a beautiful car. congrats. I don't have an e30 M3 but i did pick up an e30 325 a couple months ago as my commuter. I'm slowly building it up to make it look nice and also get it ready for the track. Are those the bbs RS wheels? I just picked up a set of RS reps.

In the same token, I guess it could be said for an e46///m3 as well? why would anyone drive anything else but a e92 m3?

uhh "190E" and "Great" are tough to put in the same sentence... I owned a 2.6 and it was cheap as hell and a bitch to maintain. But maybe I am spoiled, I went from that to an e46 M3...

You clearly missed out on the whole 2.3-16 and 2.5-16 thing. They're the equivalent of the M3 and were raced in the same series. They were in house cars before AMG was purchased by MB. They're still a little wooden when compared to the E30 M3, but far, far removed from your 2.6.

Just as the US never got the EVO versions of the E30 M3, we never got the 2.5-16 Stateside, but just like the M3, it's easy to convert one to the larger motor.

Isn't that the cossworth engine? One of the Discovery Channel british car shows featured that last night. They bought and repaired one for about 3,000 pounds.

No offense intended, but I want to have sex with your girl without even having seen her.

Viewing all these pics brings back some fond memories for me.

I foolishly sold my E30 M3 about 10 years ago. That was the dumbest move I ever made in regards to a car.
