Paint and Interior

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi Guys (and Girls)

I hate to sound like a d*** but I possibly have the chance of ordering an M135 3 door tomorrow. The thing is, I really am stuck for colour schemes.

I've previously had:

- 116 msport blue with black interior
- 118d msport white with black leather
- 123d msport black with cream leather

So black, hard to keep clean. White, so common. Estriol blue is my choice but is too popular also.

I'd like the idea of red leather?? Defo not cream again, hard to keep clean.

Any thoughts/views suggestions are welcome please people. This is a big desision when it comes to cars.

Thanks in advance.

It would definitely be either Glacier Silver or Mineral Gray with red coral leather for me for sure!

It seems like you've already made up your mind. Go for the Estoril blue with black interior!

Red interior looks great with the Mineral Grey. Not so keen on the silver though: makes the seats look too orange. Looks good in white or black too, but you've already ruled them out.

Just the fact I'm looking for something different. Round here there is already a few.

Appreciate your advice and thanks.

Has anybody got an m135? Being a petrol head and having a diesel for the past 5 years, I'm getting a little moist at the prospect of a straight six turbo. Seem to get decent reviews.

Yup : ) <=

Awesome little car, bags of potential, begs to be modded. Even as standard it's a great all rounder.

I have the white with red interior. I love the red interior but I shouldn't have been such a typical penny pinching Scot and put my hand in my pocket for some paint to go with it as the white/red combo is a bit girly.

Grey or silver would have been ideal and it's what I would get if i ordered again. I'm not usually a fan of silver but they look great in silver.

Black is always a big NO as it marks too easily and always looks dirty. The in laws have a black 3 series and it's a mess as BMW paint quality doesn't seem to be what it once was.

Estoril was my original choice but i changed because I couldn't face yet another black hole interior. Glad I didn't get it now as it's even more common than white on F20s and F30s, see it everywhere.

I know mate, I'm the same, tight scot.

I ordered the grey with red combo. I agree, too many blue going about. I've had white paint and black, never have black again. It's a bad colour to have a bmw in.

Hopefully the red leather doesn't fade. Garage have offered to protect my leather for free when its delivered.

I got mine in mineral grey + read leather + fine wood trim

Personally i would say that i love that combination the most (though it is very subjective)

The find wood trim, though a minor difference, makes the interior look so much nicer!!

My MPG is awesome because it's a 125d Averaging low 50s and driving it with no regard for economy. A bloke at work got an M135i just after i got my car and he's averaging 27mpg but he's done less than half the mileage I have and it's nearly all short journeys. By comparison, he had a GT3 and it did 26mpg with the same use.

Regarding the leather protection. If it's going to cost I wouldn't bother. 1 year old and a 3 year old so my seats have seen a bit of abuse and they still look like new 1 year on. Only thing I noticed was the drivers seat and arm rest getting a bit darker as i wear dark jeans most of the time. My wheel also started to get a bit shiny so i've just hit them with Gliptone cleaner then conditioner and it's all like new again. Fade won't be an issue either unless you live in some secret part of Scotland where the sun shines year round. Seriously, I've seen 10 year old e46s with the red and they still look fine.

I know, I am averaging between 25-35 mpg in the 123d but it never gets a chance to heat up, its always around town.

My cream drivers seat has faded badly but I think its because I always have the heated seat on (lovely Scottish weather).

My wheels are peeling due to the salt on the roads at winter time which is annoying but I might buy winter wheels and tyres for the 135 to stop this from happening again.

Interior is getting done for free for sure but I might get the exterior done as well, the paint on this 123d I have is scratched and marked badly (black).

Bring on the 135!!

Here are some photos of Estoril blue with red interior. It's not as bad as people make it because the red isn't that bright.

And if you tint your windows slightly (like I have) you won't notice the redness from the outside, and when you're inside you don't see all the blueness.
