Tanning anyone?

Just heard a advertisement on the radio about tanning salon, got me thinking who actually goes to these places now...I remember they used to be super popular but personally won't use them again(first time used them scorched my arse...painful)
Anyone have a bad/good experience using these...curious to hear the reasons why people here still like them?

I will often go 3 or 4 times before going on a vacation south. Seems to help prevent burning my pasty white Canadian ass within 5 mins of arriving down south.

I have had bad experiences with the ones you lie down on, burnt every part of my body that was touching the plastic. The stand up ones I am good.

Do you still get burned the first time you use the bed/booth?

First and second time only go for 3 or 4 mins. Have never been burnt on a stand up.

I used to in my early 20's. I have not gone in a bed in about 5 years now. I use a self tanner or I get a spray tan. Not worth the hazards.

Same here... 2 excisions in the back and don't need to go through that again. Either lathered up on the beach or Casper'd

And if the place recently changed the bulbs...watchout for burns.

The older I get the more I like how I look. I'm starting to love my fair skinned Irish/Cuban complexion. I'm not tan like Kim Kardashian but I don't feel the need to be anymore.

Lotion at the beach for me... Don't really care if I get tan or not. If I am on an extended vacation, I'll usually get pretty dark by starting with SPF 30 for a couple of days then hitting it with SPF 15.

I used to go when I was younger; this crap was really popular in NJ. Haven gone in years and my skin is probably grateful for it.. I also came to realize I'm far from a pale skin to begin with so the tanning was pretty much a waste of cash.

The Kardashian, God I hate those no talent assholes.. My chick watches them sometimes, when ever she's tuned in I go upstairs to play video games.. I cannot stand hearing them speak fore more than 2 minutes.. They all speak slow and half-retard like, it's so fucking annoying.

And E-News, my God you have to be brain damaged to watch that shit.. I think the people hosting it where all given a lobotomy because there is no way you can host that shit with a straight face and not eventually say, "ok, who the fuck is writing this retarded shit.. i mean a third grader can conjure up better shit than this.."

I used to do the same thing, for the same reasons. And i'm not even a pasty white Canadian. I live in FL, but going to the islands with intentions of being out doors most days is another thing all together. Heck, the sun is even more potent in Key West than central FL.

Now i just get a spray tan and put a base of moisturizing 45spf on in the morning. Then apply a light waterproof spray of 15spf. By the 3rd day, I'm pretty tanned up without the burn. I'm even already naturally kind of brown as well. Maybe olive is the proper term. lol

This is exactly why I won't go now....as its proven to be cancerous.
I once had a biopsy for a lesion..but turned out to be nothing...whew!
Are you now cancer free?

I am but......both times were basal cell which is the kind you want if you have to get it. Not usually an agressive type. However, probability of recurrence with age is also very high. Doc said expect more. I live in Florida and boat/fish year round. I use spf70 on my face and always wear a baseball hat on the boat.

I have a buddy who has had it 15 times on his face, yes, 15 times.

I have other friends the outcomes were not as good. Long story short, protect yourself in the sun.

My buddy once tanned his penis to mess with his girlfriend. Personally, would never attempt this but he was nuts.
