Hi,nice car buddy, congrats. What about oil temp. ? Also i have got a 116i urban pack and I want to upgrade it to 205 hp with remap. But i care about engine oil temp.Because you know there is a oil heat exchanger difference between 118i/120i and 116i.Bmw recommends to not exceed 120 C (248 F) oil temp.In Turkey some of remapped 116i (200+ hp) owners are in trouble with oil pump failure.I think we should retrofit our engines with 118i/120i oil heat exchanger or an aux oil cooler.

Any recommendation for oil cooling ? What is the best price/performance solution ? aux cooler or 118i heat exchanger kit ?

My remapped 2012 116i gets to max 123 degrees when pushing it hard and it goes fast back to 120 even at 4-5k rpm
With coolant its different - it's 110 at normal driving and around 95 at less normal..

thanks bro, i never saw more than 120 mine is always under than 120 i just using motul oil. but after hybrid i dont know what will happen to oil temp so if its too high i will buy an oil cooler it is the best way for cooing oil.

nice car selçuk congrats..
i also drive a 2015 lci 320i remapped to stg1plus and a itg profilter. My 100-200 is about 16.9 and 0-100 about 6.4. Im considering catless downpipes following week. What is your peak boost calculations? Mine has 1.49bar peak and it ends with 1.10bar. Also i like to know where did you get the gfb dv+ in ankara ? And do you think it makes a difference? And the last question, how much is it?

Thanks a lot, what is slope for 100-200 time? Dp will make great difference, i had hybrid upgrade today so my turbo boost would change a lot but before hybrid peak was 1.37. You can get from boosterperformance in sasmaz for 600 tl. It is usefull

Slope was -2.2 in 100-200. So, my boost is too high if yours was 1.37. You know we can use mass blocks in vcds for getting logs. VCDS shows 1.45bar peak and 1.10end. But with elm327 and dash command app, peak is 1.49 and ending is 1.112bar. I think elm327 and applications are not accurate. When i decat my car, i will flash the stage 2 software and tune it to 1.55bar, maybe a little timing setting. m135i spark plugs and ignition coils are also in my list for stage 2. Im also curious about the peak boost driving at sea level.

Good time congrats. Yes mine was 1.37, i didnt use both vcds and elm327 the most accurate one is in photo. Ignitions must replace with better ones, im sure we would have more boost and power at sea level

Beru spark plug has broken down on my Stage 2. It crashed to cylinder. Had half of my engine rebuilt.

Than used Denso. Failed at some point. Now using NGK. Pulling great so far.

Beru was 80 something TL each.

Denso was 360 for 4.

NGK is 100 for 4.

Before spark plug failure i was over 260km/h

Now have a 10bhp reduced Stage 2. Catless DP

Denso did not break the engine. It was skipping ignition at a certain RPM (somewhere around 4.5k) which made the car jump.

So sorry for your car bro. Is that about the timing and the octane? Are you using alcohol with 95 or is it only 95? If this was about the timing and octane, then we should use a boost controller like profec. When we sense any timing problem, should reduce the boost. with a boost controller it is so easy. Ofcourse, when we running with alcohol, we could maximize the boost.

I am running 95 Nitro now. Used to run regular 95 before.

How much are M1.35 plugs? I am really happy with 100 TL for 4. And they are great performance.

Also i am running Mobil1 Formula ESP instead of Castrol.

And yes. It was due to octaine and spark plug.

The plugs could not stand to the pressure.

Still an awesome machine. Made it to Abant with 4 people with luggage over 260 km/h with only 2 working cylinders (reduced the speed after notices the shake on engine. Did not even give any warning the whole trip. It was 3 cylinder, but than shut down another one due to mega-shake. Saw the whole story at diagnose afterwards).

Hello here,

sorry to dig this topic, but some advice would be awesome !

I plan to do some upgrade on a 116i .

I'm plan to do :

- K&N filter
- Spark plugs
- Intercooler
- Complete exhaust catback
- GFB DV+
- ?

But in regards of your experience, I would like to have your ideas.

- Which intercooler would be better , 135i OEM or aftermarket model (bigger) something like this : here
- I've read that you've got really big problems with sparks plugs, what would be recommended ? 135i oem ?
- In term of perfs, do a down cat is really recommended? what about the
Sound comfort?
- Do an oil exchanger need to be mounted ?

Thanks fir your advice's guy's !

Hi, please tell me if you have any problem with the oil temperature after tuning, mine has now 195 hp and its stock and i don't know at what temperature should i go slow to cool down.

I know the 116I does not have a heat exchanger like 118I.
Thank you

I have made a acceleration/ top speed (0 to 250 km/h) video with the temperature display on a tuned 116i (100% stock) with 219hp. Temperature is fine, except when driving at top speed (240 km/h +) for longer than a minute (temp starts to rise to above 130 Celsius).
