By driving against traffic and not having to stop-start at many traffic lights or intersections

Tricks for getting good consumption:
- Don't drive fast
- Try to plan the driving so you never need to brake
- Avoid short trips starting with cold engine
- Use high gears and low RPM

Having to pull off from a dead stop is a fuel economy killer. Try getting out onto the open road and see what the economy is like. Currently getting 9.1l/100km with limited stop-go and 100 - 120 on the freeway too and from work.

By contrast the 1.5km trip to the shops at lunch is up around 15l/100km

Take it back to dealer and have it checked out.
I drive my 125i in 'SPORT' most of the time around town, and the highest it has got to was around the 13lt/100.
I am currently getting around 500km from a full tank of premium 98.
We only get 95 RON at the coast in South Africa, and 93 on the reef which can supposedly negatively affect fuel economy. According to the interwebs

Im getting, on average, 9l per 100kms on my 125i - which is a little high for a small car (imo).

I've done circa 800kms in my car overall. Still breaking it in, so driving has been gentle to date.

My driving is mostly in comfort - with the odd eco and sport in the mix on freeways and the city.

Yes, starting the car from standstill is a killer... I'm averaging 15-20L/100KM from 0-20 traffic (stuck in the city for 30mins a few days ago)...

On a open freeway (travelling at 100KM/hr) I do get 6.5L/100KM which is probably still too high...

My car is currently at 1400km and slowly breaking it in (been back to the workshop for over 3 weeks in total)

I have an average of 10l per 100 kms.
I do lot of small trips (3kms) and I do not care a lot on economy but I can easily go down to 9l/100km in avg as soon as I do more longer trips.

And I look farward to getting summer tires on in the spring. The car is a greate drive!
I have now been on a long trip(500km) to the mountains, and on this trip I was down to 6,6l/100km. This was with 2 people and some luggage in the car. All is according to the board computer.
