But I do have a question... I know many intelligent asian individuals with very good jobs and a good education... but it seems that none of them have any sort of financial sense... is this common? It struck me as odd.

Must be a 2nd gen or regional (again). I know a lot of Asians whom are mad old school and save up like chipmunks store nuts for the winter. Very low key.

You might be referring to over-extended flashy Asians.

That's likely a result of the one-upper culture.

Parents pushing kids to be drs and using their kids as measures of their own success. Pretty jacked up stuff.

Depends, 75% of them are cheap and like to haggle and invest.
