Here you can see this feature at work a bit (too short, sorry).
I just keep the accelerator fully depressed, the car keeps revs around 3500 rpm, I just pop the clutch and go.

If the car has an automatic transmission and you keep it in N, is there nothing holding the revs back? What if it's in D or DS and you hold the brake down while revving it? I've seen people with BMWs do that on Youtube, but I'm not sure it's recommended...

I've got sports auto. Gonna try a few things and see what happens next time I'm out in the car...

No joy with sports auto. In N she will rev and hold in neutral but there is no way to engage a gear. Tired manual mode but the car wants to drive even with foot on the brake. Ah well. Launch control would have been very very epic :

I tested a little bit now. Same rev limit in eco pro mode as in comfort mode. Sport and Sport+ have a higher limit. When I selected DSC Off, there was no limit.

I saw this on youtube that shows how it works on an auto box...
"Stop the car, Press the DTC button until the DTC light comes on, Put the car in manual mode (S1), Press the sport mode button, Press the paddle downshift mode (M1). Step on the brake (left foot). Step on the gas all the way (right foot). Revs will go up to 3500 RPM while stationary. Release the brake and launch." |

The very low 1st gear on the 8 speed box means launch control isn't required, just plant your right foot. Cheers Lee |
