I've trying to find a replacement for my E90, so I can retire it from my daily 160-mile commute. I considered the new '15 Mustang thinking a coupe would compliment my fleet. So I'd go either with a V6 and manual trans or the Ecoboost w/ MT and performance package. I finally got time to look at the Mustang this past week. I was disappointed too. I looked at the V6, but didn't drive it. I didn't like the layout of it at all. I agree the hood is big; I sit high in a seat - long torso - so I usually don't feel claustrophobic in any car, but this one I did. The wheel telescopes and tilts, but I still felt it was too low to the seat even it the max height position. The mirrors are way too small for me; I can't see how you'd use them in any type of aggressive driving. Also, the front end from the side view looks goofy. All new cars that need to meet the European pedestrian impact regulations look like crap in the front end. The Mustang does too. The rear end looks great IMO.

Being an old dude, maybe it's just not my type of car anymore....

What do you really expect? BMWs/Audi/Merc/etc are high quality products to suite those that want luxury while giving an eh performance feel. Different tastes for different people.

The '15 Mustang might not feel like a fine piece of work but it will walk away from a M3 in the twisties and straight line.

I'm not a fan of how it looks from the back but like any other new car, it'll grow on you and you'll start to like it.

My husband drives a '12 Boss 302 and it IS an awesome car. It may be the best-sounding car I've ever heard. That glorious V8 burble is hard to beat. I had '11 and '13 GT500s before going back to the German side. Loved the '11, the '13 not as much.

I know, that's what shares garage space with my M3.

Test drove one....Nice car...the plastics do look rather cheap but I am ok with it....not a big deal. My real concern is the leather, to me the quality is much cheaper then in my e92. I am not sure if "Premium Trim" has different leather, dealer said leather is all the same. Dashboard and everything else looks nice.

I would need to test drive the car again. Its impossible to understand what this car is about in a short test drive with rep next to you Quick pros and cons: nice suspension, good power, good shifter feel, car seats pretty high even with PP, raised hood is a big turn off (raised or flat I dont know, just looks weird from inside), clutch is something need to get used to I guess....well and leather quality is concerning as far as wear goes. I am not sure how it works in Ford world, but with BMW customer service it would be pretty easy to get seat replaced within 50k mile warranty if it had any abnormal wear.

MPG concerns me too. I guess I am ok with 24-26 MPG on HW, but not sure if its possible with PP, people get 19 as I read

to get more soft touch panels and better leather you have to get 68b (Premier trim with accent line) on the premium models or 50th anniversary appearance package.

PPs have the 3.73 final drive ratio, people are getting better mpg with the 3.55 or the standard 3.15

Don't mean to knock the 'Stang, but this is REALLY disappointing.

Why a home made drag race video with automatic and manual transmission is disappointing ?

The autos have always been faster than the manuals in the straights. It was always the choice for the drag crowd with S197s.
