SPORT+ Throttle with DSC OFF

It was pointed out to me here that when DSC is fully OFF, the computer automatically puts the throttle mapping in COMFORT mode or something very like it.

I think I was not alone in wanting the the SPORT+ throttle and DSC OFF. I asked around at least where I am no one wants/knows how to do it. BMW says it's more of a safety feature for where there is snow, so they wouldn't even look in the computer whether that can be bypassed.

I guess it really isn't that big of a deal anyways, but just throwing it out there.

I would try to avoid using piggy back computers or throttle boosters, as they have had some issues....

Regards,

It is like this on all newer BMWs, and I think nobody has found a cure for it. Hartge has a throttle booster, and I would assume that there should be no issues with it, coming from a reputable company.

I have done some testing with it, and I think the power output is the same at full throttle in Comfort and Sport mode. The difference is the pedal mapping.

It is also worth noting that it is impossible to test the power in a 2WD dyno in Sport mode for the same reason.

Yes it definitely feels like SPORT in the last 1/4 or 1/5 or so of throttle travel....

I don't think it's such an issue. You are still getting the full throttle capability of the car; it doesn't make the car any slower, and only slightly affects the car's responsiveness, if at all; it's really just pedal sensitivity, and I can understand BMW's safety consciousness. You can probably adjust for its effect in driving style over time.

Just drive in Comfort throttle all the time - leave your Sport set like that. You get used to the way it is so you aren't thrown by the change between modes.

Now if I drive in Sport throttle it is annoying.

My June 2013 car goes to sport throttle when the SPORT+ is selected. I know this because my car is set to comfort throttle when comfort and sport are selected. can feel a real difference with SPORT+

We're talking about the throttle response when in DSC OFF-mode.

I have noticed that the steering response stays in Sport(+)-mode but the throttle is in Comfort-mode.
As you are mostly drifting when in DSC OFF-mode, it would be nice to have the more direct throttle response of Sport(+)-mode but it's not something you can't overcome

Maybe one day one will be able to reprogram it.
